i am not sure but my guess would be they follow the NWTF scoring rule
you can go to nwtf.org and fill in blanks and it will give you the score for your turkey..

They do not follow the NWTF rules. Here is how they do it...
Weight + Longest Spur times 20 + Longest Beard times 2.
SO if you bring a double bearded bird in that has a 1.5 incch spur on his right leg and no spur on the left and a 10 inch beard and a 5 inch beard and he weighs 20 pounds your score would go as folllows.
Weight 20
Longest Spur 30
Beard 20
total socre: 70

Today, i scored my dads bird and it scored 55. He had 1 and 1/2 inch spurs. 11 inch beard. And weighed 25 pounds. Would that be considered a book bird[?]

I think you missed it by about 22. If you score it by NWTF it scores 77. One heck of a bird.
Here is the link that you can go to and jsut type in the numbers in the provided spots and it will figure your score for you.
