Good Luck and have a safe trip! I hear that the guys we have in OK have had it rough due to the weather, maybe it will break for you!
I'm leavin' for OK on Friday and it's supposed to be in the 80s so hopefully it works out. Huntin' in a one bird county so I'm not planning on being gone too long.

I wish I woulda went this week instead of last. The birds are breaking up more and are responding to the calls and decoys much better.

just got back from our kansas trip. saw lots of birds but nothing wanted anything to do with a call or decoy. my buddy got one heading back to the roost. 20lb bird with a 9 inch beard. great looking bird. would have had one also but me and dad were sitting in the blind that day and with 30 mph winds it blew the blind over so we packed it in and waited in the truck and watched 3 toms walk over the exact spot the blind was sitting. but oh well it was a fun trip anyways and got one bird between the 3 of us so not bad for my first rio hunt ever and on ground ive never set foot on and it was all public ground. looking forward to going after mirriams next year.

wind is definately an element of the weather you'd better be prepared to deal with when hunting KS. Sorry to hear you guys didn't do so well. Next year be sure to take plenty of stakes for the blind!

yeah we had great weather other than the one day but birds were just henned up and would gobble 2 to 3 times in the mornings on the roost and a few times at night the rest of the time they were dead quiet. it was a great learning experience. oh and had 8 tent stakes in the double bull but with wind gusts at close to 40mph it wasn't staying put guess thats what i get for trying my first rio with the bow and trying to get in on film. oh well there is always next year gotta love hunting trips whether u come home with a bird or not.
What county you huntin?
I'm in Ardmore, OK huntin', not sure about the county but right above the TX border around Lake Texhoma. Only hunted on Saturday and came back home for Easter (only about an hour-and-a-half drive). Called in a bunch of different Jakes that came in struttin' and gobblin', but no long beards. Gonna be going when I get back from KY on the 24th, 25th, and 26th. Hopefully we'll get into them then.
