Hi, I am from MS and will be coming to turkey hunt in your state for a few days. We will be hunting on Peabody Management Area in Ohio County. Is the turkey hunting great in this area. Any special things I should be aware of?

Lots of birds, and lots of people. Bring tick spray also.

Killed most of my birds there after 11am. Seems after all the people leave the woods the birds act normal again. You will be surprised how much gobbling you will hear later in the day.

I'd hunt peabody later in the days, place is covered in people in the mornings, Everytime i get on a bird there someone scares it off trying to sneak up on it. Try after 11 find high points and glass the green strips birds will be out strutting. Good Luck and like said on another post bring lots of tick spray

I agree totally about later in the day. You are going to hear birds in the morning for sure. Most of the time (depending on how early in the season) they are going to have hens lined up. Be patient later in the middle of the day. When the hens get boring, they will be out looking for new friends. You need to be there.
