Hi fellas...I had to share this with you you. We roosted birds on Friday night. The hens flew up to the west along a river and 2 toms roosted about 125yds away from them to the east. There was a big round bale in the middle of the field about 50yds from the trees. We went after dark and made our way across the open field and found the round bale. In the process of setting up the pop up blind we bumped a hen a she flew a couple trees to the west. We sat our chairs and decoys inside the blind and got the heck out of there. The next morning it was foggy and we had the blind GPS'd from the night before so we walked right to it. My buddy got the 2 kids inside while I put out Pretty Boy and a couple other hens. At 6:37 we heard our 1st gobble coming from our right followed by another and another. I tree called a couple times...gobble gobble. About 10 mins. went by and we heard a bird pitch but could hardly see it. Then, the other one pitched out. I could see both toms about 75yds away to our right. They stood there and did what turkeys do for about 5 mins. or so. I purred and yelped softly and watched. I told the kids here they come and to get ready. They walked by the blind at about 13yds headed to Pretty Boy. The lead bird puffed up and was getting ready to pounce and the 2nd bird was right behind him. I told the kids 1..2..3..shoot....bang-bang!! We were taking pictures at 7:13am!!!! What a morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a hunt to rememeber for sure.....thanks for the kind words fella's!! My son and I have our eyes set on (3)strutters and a jake along with 8-10 hens close to home. Maybe we'll get lucky and pull off another double when season rolls around. By the way...one fella asked about shotguns? I gave my daughter my son's youth model Remington 870..20ga. and I bought him a Charles Daly youth model 20ga. (Remington choke tubes interchange with the Charles Daly choke tubes by the way.)The Rem.870 had a red dot scope on it already and I put HiViz fiber optics on the Charles Daly. I never dreamed we'd need both guns but just wanted to have it just in case.....Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!
