I have several:

(1) I had just shot a dandy gobbler with my ole smoke pole that I had been after most of the season. I mean a dandy 25+lb, 12" beard and the spurs to match at over 1.5". I grave yarded him (I thought). I reach down to pick him up and everything is cool. I sling him over my shoulder for the hike back to the truck when all the sudden this fool comes to life and starts going crazy. I went to let go of his feet and those hooks got hung up in my glove. He proceeded to beat me and I couldn't let go. He practically drilled a hole in the center of my hand by flapping around in a circle before I could put the holy ghost splash on him and get the 3 count. :D
(2) The second one would be on Mason when he was 8 years old and his first turkey hunt. After a lot of planning opening morning finally came and we were right in the middle of a group of 4 long beards. They hit the ground after fly down and proceed to strutt single file in front of us to the decoys. The first one comes out strutting and I ask Mason if he is on him and he says yes, I cluck, the bird sticks his long neck up and I tell Mason to take him. Boom! The bird just fluffs his wings and walks over to the decoys. I help Mason shuck another shell in the gun, the second one walks out, same thing. Boom! Bird walks off! Then again the same thing happens on the third bird. Boom! A hen comes out on the end of the field we are in and all 4 long beards walk off without a clue as to what happened. Unbelieveable. They finally shut up and we head back to the truck and walk around this barn only to find two long beards strutting with their backs to us on the other side, about 20 yards away. I get Mason up next to the barn and ease him out to get a clear shot. We get a couple feet away from the barn and one of the long beards strutts into clear sight. I cluck, neck goes up, BOOM! Those two gobblers and a whole bunch of hens all fly off with out a scratch. That was the day we refer to as the "LEAD MINE"! LMAO! :D

Not trying to be debbie downer, but is it really that hard to kill a turkey? How many times does a turkey have to come alive before you shoot it again?

You're right, we should all be a little more like you.

It has nothing to do with being like me. 1. You tried to pick up a turkey you knew was alive. I don't know too many people who wouldn't just shoot it again.Instead, you wrestle with it, and put it in your truck. 2. Then after that, it comes alive in your truck. I won't even talk about why you would put a turkey in the cab of a truck. 3. Then you go hunting, leave it in the cab, and it comes alive again.
Just seems like a bunch of silly decisions. Thats all I am saying. Just shoot the damn thing.

Yeah he posted a story, and then deleted it. In short, he shot a turkey from very far away. When he got to the turkey, it was sitting there looking at him, still alive. He tried to tackle it and wrestle it, got several gashes on his arm, one 6 inches. For some reason he decided not to shoot it again, and just put it in the cab of his truck. While he was driving to another hunting spot, the turkey decided to fly around the cab of his truck. He hunting partner decided to give him a pair of kids scissors, the ones with rounded tips, to kill the turkey. So he whittled on the turkeys neck, in the truck, with the kids scissors. They then got out of the truck, to hunt the second spot. When they get back to the truck after hunting, the brake lights are on, and they can't figure out why. They open the door and the turkey is alive, and sitting on the opposite side of the truck they left him on, and now sitting on the brake peddle, causing the lights to go on. I don't remember what he did next, probably try and wrestle it again.
My only comment was the one above, why not just shoot it again? He got offended by that, and deleted his post. I think its a valid question.

My wife's cousin comes in from Oklahoma every spring and hunts with me for a few days. Last year's opener wasn't perfect for us. We set up on 3 birds gobbling their heads off. Birds work like a charm and come straight in to the decoys. I've got all of the action on video. It's making a perfect video. They get to the decoys and he shoots and misses. I said the "s" word quite loudly on the video. Not to mention that her cousin is a preacher so no one believed me when I tried to pin the comment on him.

Opening day of season last year....i was thrilled that season finally showed, but mistakenly got off to a late start (was walking back to hunt while the sun was just coming up).. on the walk towards the back of the farm, it had already gotten daylight and right over the hill from me about 100 yards a gobbler started gobbling his head off.. I knew he was on the ground so i made a quick move..i put out a decoy and set up in a brush pile... I began to start calling, and he showed himself on the top of the hill strutting and gobbling to my decoy... I took it easy on the calling and let him do his thing... I look to my left and the cows were also interested in my decoy... the cows beat the gobbler there and while sniffing my decoy knocked it over... but this didnt stop the gobbler.. He still came in towards the decoy..once he was in range i still had to wait because of the cows..before i could get an open shot..a young calf started chasing the gobbler around in circles..the gobbler had enough and ran off into the woods..literally gobbling the whole time! it was like something you would see on a bloopers video
