Yesterday morning i had the best turkey hunt of my life. Me and my uncle went out to a new farm. We didnt have much luck until 8:30. Thats when the majic happened. We was hunting big open fields where cattle had been but they were fenced in up on a hill. We hunted the biggest field surrounded by 3-4 other decent size ones. the feild to our right is were we roosted them the night before and sure enough thats where they entered the field that morning. one after another turkeys gobbling left and right. 50 turkeys entered the field. 15 gobblers and 5 or 6 jakes. henned up the birds would not come to us. they left the field going to the cattle. we waited a while then went after them. we caught up with them at a pond next to the cattle, they was heading torward an open ridge. we got up to a barn and they were nowhere to be spotted. we popped up over a hill and there stood a gobbler with two hens. he started to run and i shot him. he dropped like a ton of bricks. he had a little over a 10 inch beard, 1 inch spurs.
