Turkey's Gobbling Today

Went squirrel hunting with a friend this morning and heard 50 gobbles or so. Seemed to be about three gobblers gobbling their heads off. Isn't this late in the year for that?

i been hearing them regularly
but tends to taper off by the end of June...seems to be the same pattern every year

My wife heard one gobblin' this morning in the neighbors woods. I took my coffee cup and sat on the patio. He gobbled a few more times, but not with much enthusiasum. Tom

I've heard more gobbling the last couple of weeks than I ever heard during season. In the mornings when we're going to work, there have been several times lately when shutting the sliding door on our van wil get one or two to gobble.

Earlier this week, I was out in the "garden" making sure the weeds were OK. We heard a bird gobble a couple of times. My 6 year-old came outside and said, "Hey Dad, let's throw the Frisbee." I told him I would, IF he could make the turkey gobble.

He said,"OK". (What was funny, he said,"OK" real non-chalantly, like I had asked him to count to 2 or something.)

Anyway, he hollers "<b>YELP YELP YELP</b> and gets a Double-gobble. Then he grins and says,"Want me to do it again Daddy?" and I told him that nobody likes a show-off, and just get the stinkin' Frisbee.

Haven't heard any for the last week or so. I think mine finally gave up.

I've got one behind my house that has gobbled every morning for a week and I made him gobble last night by slamming the car door!
