How many of y'all have chopped the yard this spring? Gonna put the blade to mine this week. A few in the neighborhood mowed last week. It's gettin' to be about that time. I actually enjoy cutting the grass for the first couple of months. The "new" wears off pretty quick after that. I'm usually plum sick of it by mid-August. Let the fun begin!

got mine out and changed the oil and filter yesterday. ran a few laps around one section to test it out and chop up the last few leaves that were still in the yard. figured I would need a new battery this year but it started right up.

HAHA i mowed yesterday (3-4 hrs) and used the weed eater today..
*** i got me a new White mower with like a 58 " cut so was itchin to try it out...HOWEVER there is a positive side to it...NEVER EVER could get the wifey to mow dang she hop'd on the new one and mowed for like an hour and seems like she may take control of that mower ..so thats a positive and i guess i will have to go back to the older mower BUT hey cuts my mowing time in half now..
BEAUTIFUL day out there..
** also she bought my sportsmans license yesterday while she was out and about so 2 positive incidents happend in one day (LIGHTING is gonna strike)

Sounds like a good investment. I'd trade the "new" for the "old", if it gets you a mowin' partner. Hope she gets good at it and just pushes you right out of the picture. If that happens, get her a "personalized plate" and tack it on the front...just so she knows where she stands!:D

I am with you slow bow, I don't mind it in the spring but come August there is a whole lot of things I had rather do.

slow bow i agree ...may even mean more fishin time or of course i could throw a few steaks on the grill as i sit back sippn tea and watch her mow...
I dont think she will be so gung ho with the weed eater its a industrial size and will wear you out BUT its wicked nothing hardly slows it down..
Come On turkey day....

I had to mow my back yard the weekend before last. I already had some grass back there that was up 10-11" high.
I had to go over the entire thing this afternoon. I am ready for spring but I am not ready to start mowing the yard again.

will be cutting next week,,,,tilled up one of our gardens today so we can plant cabbage and onions,,going to waite till mid april for the other garden
Not yet, but it is in the very near future. I plan on picking up oil and filter this week to service mine. There are still some small branches that I decided would be better mulched than me spend time with a rake getting them out of the yard. My plans are to mow a couple of time before putting an edge on my blades.
I am with quackr, I cannot wait for warmer temps but the yard mowing I could do without for a while longer.

I took the deck off my ztr to check the belt and sharpen the blades.......I got the crazy idea to take the mower around the yard for a hot lap!!!! My wife and kids were watching through the back doors while I was acting stupid when I got the crazy idea to try to pop a wheelie. Big mistake......with the deck off, the front end gets very light. I just about flipped it all the way over backwards. That thing stood up straight up and I froze, then pulled the levers backwards and it came back down. My kids were yelling, "do it again daddy"...My wife just rolled her eyes and walked away shaking her head.

Broke is the key word! Mine started right up and I backed her out of the garage then went to go forward heard a little pop. No hydro-stat now! I hope it is a belt!

Almost! I thought about it today, real spotty, tall clumps here and there. Won't be long.

Changed the oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter and sharpened the blades on the John Deere today plus added a neat little spinner to the steering wheel.

Took me 2 evenings this week but i finally got it all done...It had been needin it for a few days and sure enough it was rough. The ol' kubota got the job done though. Think it's time for a good sharpening though forgot that it was early last year last time i done it so i'm gonna sharpen it up a little this weeke some time.

I got my mower out and changed the oil, greased it, and checked the tires' air pressure. I put it off as long as possible cause I don't like mowing. It takes a solid 3 hours to knock it out here!

Boy, now that I got two teenage sons who can help cut grass...I went from having a solid 2 1/2 hr job cuttin grass. To 45 minutes and that includes clean up up all items used to do the job. :D:) I knew them boys would come in handy someday....:)
