Just got back from our lease down in Ark. and there were pintails, gadwalls, and teal galore already! I hunt about 3 miles s.w. of Claypools res. and the whole surrounding area has ducks. I'm seeing a few here at home in the Ballard bottoms but nothing significant yet. I can't wait to whack some greenheads!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been ready for awhile. Had the calls out yesterday playing with them.

Anymore luck bowhunting Roger? I've been seeing a few, but nothing shootable. Did shoot 2 coyotes yesterday am. Had a chance at a 3rd but it stopped behind a limb. Hard to see any deer with 2 dead coyotes under your stand!!!! hehe

DB,

I'll be in Arkyland the first weekend. We'll be hunting in that area on a lease with some friend. We are staying at the Mallard Inn in Harrisburg. Is that close to where you will be?

Later,

Brook

I'll have to post some of my Saskatchewan duck pictures. We killed Mallards, Pintails, Widgeon, Teal, Redheads, and some Shovelers. The geese had not migrated down in large numbers and mostly there were just locals who were very wary. Saw thousands upon thousands of birds. I'd be pumped about duck shooting around here if there were any birds in my area. Need some bad weather up north to push them on down. Just an fyi, did u all know that in North Dakota, u do NOT need permission to hunt? If the land is not posted (and to be posted is such a pain, hardly anybody does it), and u see a place u think looks good, u can stop and hunt. We hunted right across the Canadian border about 100 miles with friends and had a blast.

Not in KY unless it gets a lot better than last year. I look forward to NE next weekend and Arkansas on their first week. I am going to Stuttgart to hunt with the guys from Avery. That will be my first trip to duck central.

Good Hunting...Tim H.

Well I'm definately pumped about Nebraska next weekend and considering a trip to Arkansas on opening weekend. Looks like the goose pit is a done deal up in Henderson.

Cockbird, just waiting for a doe to come under my stand on a cold morning. Been a few times and held back on some does becuase of warmer weather. No more bucks. Probably won't be any bucks like the one that got away for another 2-3 seasons.

New Hampshire has a rule, no posted signs means come on in and hunt if you want.

cockbird,

It's between Harrisburg and Waldenburg, just southeast of Weiner. I'm a member of Brushy Creek Duck Club. The lodge is about 10 min west of Harrisburg. My son Chris and I will be down for opening weekend for sure. Maybe we can hook up and have lunch or something. Man, I can't wait to whack some greenheads![xx(]

Very pumped! I don't have a trip scheduled until mid January, I'll be going to Arkansas for a week. I hope the ponds are full of ducks in a month. I imagine that Remington of mine will need warming up.
