Not so much puttin it to them at the end of the half. They had 16 minutes of awesome ball though, hope they win.

Yeah I posted about 5 min. before halftime but we still won the first and if we can play as well in second then maybe we can move to the second round. I would love to see WKU move on because most of the ESPN commentators and the rest of the country had ILL. picked to win.

this program is one to keep an eye on in years to come. their coach was on sports talk radio the other day and seemed like a great guy. terrence boyd is committed there verbally i believe. they won on my bracket!

this was a really good win for wku. i kinda throught illinios was higher seeded than they should of been. but glad wku pulled out the win. gonzaga isnt the greatest team ever either though. they have had a tough year so i kinda look at wku pulling out the upset once again

The thing that really gets me and I know this will sound like sour grapes, but the fact that last year and this year Western gets the best draw possible. Without their star player, Illinois was about as much of a 5 seed as Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Murray State got the same 12/5 matchup against the Illini (2003) against what was arguably the best 5 seed in the history of the NCAA tourney. %$@#* Western.

Would someone tell the refs that the defensive player can not guard the guy throwing the ball in out of bounds! I don't mean that he can't guard the inbounds passer but I mean the defensive player can't be across the end line with him! I DVRed and saw it three times late in the second half. Not saying that that is what fueled the WKU semi-collapse but it sure didn't help matters. Plus the refs blew the call on the inbounds pass where the illinois player touched the ball and then it hit the sideline. They gave the ball back to Illinois after they watched it on replay!? WOW! That was a big play in the game. The ESPN commentator even made the comment prior to all this that not only are the teams fighting to move on but so are the refs.

I vote that those refs don't move on.

WKU's play late in the second half was not good but they did make a few shots. The Illini press melted the toppers, they didn't seem to be able to beat it. I'm sure they will be working on stratigies to beat the press before next game. I'm not a big ball fan but like to see local schools do well. Go Tops!
