Hey Turkey, I have hunted turkeys for about 15yrs and I guess I have shot lots of different loads/brands during that time. I had a buddy tell me about Federals Flight Control Wad a couple years ago because he was such a fan of them. I never was too impressed with any of Federal's shotshells but I thought what the heck... (I am a Winchester man myself). I would say without a doubt that the flight control wad is the hardest hitting, longest shooting turkey shell I have shot yet. The wad is different than the others. They are more like a hard plastic cup (fairly thick and heavy) that evidentally groups the shot together for a longer period of time than other wads. I have found the flight control wads 40yrds down range of my gun. My only problem with them is they kill on both ends of the gun... ask my shoulder and the turkey from last year.
I would recommend them. I shoot a 28" 12 Gauge Benelli SBEII with a Kicks .665 choke.
Good luck in finding the right shell for you and your gobbler!

I've shot Federal 3" lead #4's since 1996. The Flight-control wad is an improvement. I did not find it was a HUGE improvement, but I did notice a change for the better. What blows my mind is how often I now get the wad banging into the pattern board and the turkey, even at extended ranges.

I love em as long as they make them it will be the only shell I shoot. I don't shoot the heavy weight I shoot the regular fed. flite control in 3 in num 6's. In my gun and choke I won't think twice about pulling the trigger at 55-60 yds. Ive taken to many with them at long ranges to dought them.
