My wife works for Ky Higher Ed Student Loan Co. which is a private company that works with/for the state govt to administer college student loans. She just laid it on me that one of the Obama plans he is trying to get passed would put all student loans under juristicion of the federal dept of education and therefore would put my wife out of business. Awesome, more govt intervention. I'm madder than hell right now, as I haven't heard anything about this yet.

hopefully something will change before it happens. If, however, that it does come to pass, then she should stick it to them as much as possible before she leaves. She can do that by absolving as many student loans as possible without total payment. I can give her a couple to start with.;)

I was thinking the same thing as I was reading this. Yeha I dont want to see her to lose her job, but if worse comes to worse I have an account number she might just want to delete to show them sorry sob's.

I'll get in line!
Yep, I've heard about this. It's all part of Obama's plan to make college more affordable. Good luck to your wife, and hopefully this won't unfold in a negative way for you guys. I am getting a feeling that Obama is pushing things as hard as he can right now, but sooner or later Americans are going to push back and put a stop to this non-sense. I just hope it's sooner.

His "plan" is that everything will be under government control.

That sucks. With so many people out of work right now and other places starting to lower their production numbers. It’s getting harder and harder for people to find jobs. Good luck to you all.

Ateup, you are one of millions in this country who are fed up with this total non-sense. Obama wants to control every single aspect of our lives all for our own good.. or so he would lead you to beleive that.
When I first got on this website I started telling you folks that our govt was sliding towards total control and totalarism, never-mind the cat thing! However, you all stood back and said this is the good ol usa and nothing like that would happen in the land that your fathers/uncles/brothers/sisters and so on had fought to protect, and now your watching it happen right before your own eyes! Still no one is doing anything about it, however, you have to get fired up before you can have a fight, and enough people have to feel the same! It could be heading that way!
Obama is all about total govt control, he'll want to tie us with other govt's and such, and you'll see what I'm talking about. I can't beleive it isn't already as clear as glass to you all that we're directly on that path!

Sorry to hear that Ateup! Hope something changes to stop this stuff.
My wife is a teacher and was just notified that she will no longer get paid for one of here advanced certifications, which results in a 10% pay cut. Got to love a govenrment that penalizes higher education, huh?
Hope it all works out for you, pal! Keep us posted.

Everyone had better hold on to their hats... if BHO has his way, many, many more will lose their jobs across varying sectors of the economy. Further, many who enjoy good jobs and benefits now will see their wages cut due to new business realities (i.e. anyone in healthcare or the financial services industry). If we continue down this road, we will be a nation of indentured servants...

For what it means, I got laidoff at the begining of the year from a job that i have been at for six years. Today my old boss from the previous job that I had ask a friend of mine if I was interested in coming back too work for them. I dont know what to do because I'v been out of the automotive business for quite some time ( mechanic), and I know that the automotive world is not doing very well right now, but at the same time...it is a job and I like working automotive, and it's a new car dealership. So what do I do, continue to draw unimployment or take this job into consideration and see what happens? Open for any opinions.

Exactly, auto mechanics will be one of the jobs that will benefit from a slow economy.

Yep this whitehouse is making a move to federalize everything.
I hope your wife is of ethnic dissent or she might be replaced in the name of fairness.

We can change this by going down to the voting booth in a year or so and start voting them out one by one.
