I saw a nest with 13 eggs on the 20th of April. I bet they should be about ready to hatch. If they haven't already.

I haven't spotted any yet around my place. Seeing lots of hens feeding in some of the hay fields and a couple hitting the corn feeder behind the house during the day. I hope the heavy rain we had a few days ago didn't effect the hatch. 3 1/2 inches fell in two hours last friday afternoon.

I saw my first chicks last Friday on the way to my farm Beleive it or not, they were crossing the road with their mother. There were only 4-5 and they were about the size of a cue ball (maybe less).

I also found a nest of broken turkey eggs on my farm, but they could have been broken from by the predators.

Saw a nest during season and a hen setting on it so I dont know how many egg's were in it. Walked by a couple day's ago to check it out and she's still setting.
It take's turkey's 28 day's to hatch,so it wont be long.

I saw 10-12 chicks walking with a small group of hens today right off of Dixie Hwy at the tank in Fort Knox. Looks like the rain hasn't hurt all of nests, but Lord we've had enough !!!

I saw my first ones this morning on my way to work. Saw two hens with 4 or five chicks in tow. I know that isn't that many, but it is good to see that some of the ones that were hatched before the rains made it.

A bad day hunting is better than a good day at work.

Saw a hen and about 10 poults last weekend. The poults were big enough that they should survive the rain now. Plus I saw a hen and 9 poults about the size of a quail this morning.

If your not a hunter you wouldn't understand

Saw a hen with a few (maybe 6) young un's behind her at my farm in Ballard County today. Also interesting, I saw probally 12 Turkey on the way out there, and a few were puffed up Gobblers.

I wouldnt think that the gobblers would be strutting this late in the year, but then again anything is possible in a turkeys lifetime!!!

gobblers ain't too bright sometimes when it comes to love -- I saw a gobbler struting like a madman for a hen with chicks once in early July.

Where do you hunt in Ohio county? I hunt about 5 miles down highway 1414(northern Ohio county). I know that Ohio County has the most turkey harvest each year. I can sure tell. Every year, i see over 40 or 50 poults each year. Im not trying to discrete the other countys,, but i would have to say that Ohio county is my favorite place to hunt!

Saw the same hen this morning in the same spot. She indeed had 5 little ones following her. They are about the size of a hen chicken. I was glad to see that they made with all of the crazy weather that we have had.
