Anyone use one on their shotgun? Flirted with the idea a couple years back but didn't buy one. Wasn't sure it would allow a smooth swing if a bird approached from the wrong direction.
Any thoughts?

Is that the pad you buckle on your knee? If it is i've used one for 7 years. It works great because you can balance your gun on your leg and still scratch in the leaves with your off hand. As far swinging the gun. I've only done it once and to me it doesn't really make a difference if the gun in on a pad or on your hand. Its still a lot of movement either way.

No, its a rest that mounts to the barrel of your shotgun that you can extend to different heights.

Grant,

My dad bought one last year but hasn't used it yet. Like any of the gun sticks, I think it helps if you have it adjusted a little shorter so your gun is pointed a little downhill. Then, if you need to move left or right or lower your aim, the stick isn't dragging in the leaves.

I used one last year and it really helps to steady the gun, especility if it takes the bird a while to come in. I bought the H.S. Strut one the clips to the bottom of your barrel when you are not using it.
