Just got some. Can't wait to try them out!!!! Gonna shoot them this weekend and will post how they fly. If decent, I guess we'll see how well they do on deer![:p]

Finally got to shoot them! I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THIS WEEKEND!!!!! They flew well, but I think that I need to load more powder to get a good flat trajectory. Had a lot of vertical travel, but I believe that it can be cut down with more powder. Grouped will enough though that I'm happy with them.

Been using barnes for about 4yrs.They shoot well and do a number on deer.Shot a deer Sunday with a 180 grain barnes .50 cal sabot over 3 pyrodex pellets. in my 209x50 Encore.Best load I've found yet.Used to shoot 250gr. Barnes but switched last year to 180 for flatter trajectory.2" high at 100yds. and 6" low at 200yds.Took one buck at 163 yds.about 4yrs. ago but most shots have been 20-120 yds.Sundays shot was 40 yds. broadside took out both lungs. He was a good 10 point field dressed 185#.

Good job on the buck Tony. You get him down below round top? Got any ideal how old that deer was???

Thanks Tom.Yeah I was on the north slope of round top and he came up from the creek bottom to the NE of me.In 3 seasons of hunting that spot I had never seen a deer come in from that side of me before.I don't think he is the dominant buck in that area you were telling me about. We estimated him at 3 1/2. His hocks were flared and stinking but his neck was not swollen yet.He was just coming through like he was out for a walk .It was my lucky day but not his. Thanks again and I hope we can raise the funds to keep hunting at the club.

Tell you what, after what I saw during the early ML season, these bullets will probably be what I stay with! 80 yd shot to the top of the neck (right under the jaws). Blew about a 2" hole out the back side with meat and bone flying everywhere! Went straight through the center of the spine, or as best as I could tell!
