You are looking at about an hour and a half from Louisville. You might think about the "stay all night" route.

Someone sent me a message about spouses (or girlfriends) attending. What is the general feeling about this? I told him that I was not going to be responsible for an answer to his question.

Hey if thier good looking and pay thier $10 it might give us something to look at other than a bunch of old smelly turkey hunters....LOL. Who knows we might convince a wife or girlfriend to take up hunting,When they hear some of the storys I am sure will be told.Mine is beyond help so she will not be attending.

I'll be there with my quad, gun, and fishing poles. I don't know about the wife or girlfriend idea. I have a hard time just getting away for a day by myself. So I'll be there alone. Some people like a spouse to fish or hunt with, I use fishing and hunting to get away!!!

This is my opinion to the "GUYS ONLY" cookout. I was actually looking forward to this cookout, and had been asked by lab-lover to cook for this big shin-dig, which I agreed to do, and had already been putting time into planning what I was going to cook. HOWEVER, since I now know how the majority of you feel about this this "GUYS ONLY" cookout, I will not be attending, nor cooking, since I'm not welcome. Why should I put my time into cooking all morning, when I wont be able to enjoy the afternoon at the lake? I am not spending my day like that, and I know you wouldn't want to either. So, in closing, have fun eating whatever you GUYS can come up with, and have a great cookout!

uh oh...I think you should let the wives come. After all, you do go home to these women everynight, you have to see them....you dont' want to piss them off. And us guys are just guys you will see maybe a handful of times, compared to everyday seeing your wife. Some of yall may want to think about that.

Ummmm.....do you have to be a turkey hunter to attend or is this open to all forum members? Just a thought that popped into my mind.

Dear Mrs. Lab-loversgal. I never said i thought NO WOMEN should be allowed to come, i simply said i wasn't bringing mine. She could care less about hunting and im quite certain she would not enjoy being around a hunting/fishing theme afternoon. I have NOTHING against women comming what so ever and im well aware that women hunt turkeys and suffer the end of the season just as we all do. My sincerest apologies if my intentions were misconstrued.[:(]

I wish I could get my wife to come! She would just ruin the fun for me! Complaining about how everyone just thought about hunting! If there are women out there involved in the lifestyle bring em on! Like some one earlier said " the more the merrier"!

Ill clear the air about the wife coming question...Im the guilty party.Everyone is entitled to their opinion. My opinion is if you have to do something to get away from your wife, you must have a pitiful relationship.I consider my wife my best friend as well.
Im kinda like the lady that posted(lab-loversgal) I WAS looking forward to the cookout but as result of the group not really wanting
wives/girlfriends im going to pass on the cookout.Enjoy!
And by the way, she is "good looking" and had $10.00[:)]

I need to inform everyone that there has been alot of discussion on this subject. As I posted ealier, "the more the merrier". I say if your wife or girlfriend hunts, bring her. It is a hunting cookout. Who knows, they may have better stories than the guys. I am sorry for all of the confusion and hurt feelings. If I had known that people were not going to come over this, I would have never said anything. Please come and bring your significant other with you.

The other forum hunt and cookout I attend each year has a gal from New Jersey that flys into Memphis just to attend. She can keep you in stiches with storys of her hunting trips. I feel someone like that can turn a bad day into a better one. My wife of 35 years and myself spent a lot of time fishing even on dates before we were married. Treat the little lady nice and she may someday buy you a present like mine did when she gave me for retirement a new Nitro fish and ski boat...LOL

I think the majority would welcome the ladies. My wife does not hunt but it is nice to see women thak enjoy the sport. After riding in the same vehicle with skin_dog1 it might be nice to see a smilling face.
