My moms house has been repaired for two days now but the power cant be turned on until the inspection. Indiana will let the power turned on without the inspection because of the backlog of people needing it. They will get the inspection ASAP but it will not delay getting the power back on while waiting for a guy to put a sticker on it.Why cant Ky do the same thing?

I heard on the news yesterday afternoon that they will go on and hook it up without the inspection if you "have followed protocol." I have no idea what that means. Maybe that the inspection has been requested? It's unbelievable that an inspection would cause further delays but then again there are probably some jakeleg "electricians" out there that have no idea what they're doing except for getting the money and getting out of town before their work causes a house to burn down. You know how bad times like these bring out the scammers and con artists.

I suspect that it is all in who you know and where you are. ;)

not all electric co. require inspections on storm damage. never have had to until other day in mayfield, most time as long as you are licensed you dont have to inspect. because of such widespread damage alot of home owners doing their own. this is more than likely the reason for inspections.

Maybe those counties need to ask for help from other locations. The inspections are to protect the homeowner. I know it dont seem right when you have been without power.

There is a very precise protocol in Louisville for having the power restored.
