I've heard that there is a lot folks that have had their services ripped off the side of their houses, as have many others in the state. I hear there is to much damage for all the Electrical Contractors to get people turned on quickly. So I think I might load the truck and go see if I can get some folks back on.
I'm not trying to advertise mods, just trying to help out if anyone on here knows of some one in need of an Electrician to get there service fixed asap so the utility co. can reconnect power let me know by PM.

If you come into most of the local counties here you will have to have proof of license, proof of insurance and workers comp, and register with the county judges office for a permit to do what you want to. There have been some scam artists at work already and the counties are trying to prevent future troubles.

I cant speak for everyone but most of the Purchase has always had a good stable of electrical contractors. The Pennyrile areas may be short ..I dont know.

As mrdux stated... been a bunch of scams going on. Might be a hard sell to people that dont know you but I'm not going to speculate. Lots of people are in need... mostly with services pulled away from homes.

If your state licensed Master Electrician ... your already required to hold the liabillity insurance. In most cities back this way you will need a permit but most county work does'nt require it with exception of a few.

I've been working a few family / friend plumbing jobs...mostly frozen piping or well pump problems. Seeing a lot of pressure switches just plumb stuck open not making contact and older pressure tanks out of kilter on air pressure. So far I've not charged a dime or would'nt considering the situation. I think you will find many local electricians with the same thought process helping family & friends.

It wont be an area to get rich quick but you may be able to help a few.

Don't worry guys I am self employed and fully licensed and insured, going to do some calling today to see what county's need help and what the local gov. needs from me before i make a decision.

Like others have said, the locals will be very untrusting of someone from out-of-town. I'd try to find a local electrican to team up with, there is a lot of work out there. Also, I expect there to be a big demand to make houses more generator-ready all over the state.

These guys may be right but I suspect that anyone at 10 days and counting without power because of a service issue at their house might jump all over some outside help.

I don't know about electrician availability now but over the weekend my inlaws had a heck of a time trying to find one to fix theirs.

Predator, I came through Litchfield twice yesterday on my way to Hopkins Co and back and thought of you both times. Was wondering if you were out of power and hoping you're doing ok. Was taking a generator to my uncle and stopped at McDonalds for a rest break. That new generator in the back of the truck drew a lot of interest. Just out of curiousity, do you know how conditions are in the Yemen community? Didn't have time to run by the BIL's place yesterday. The house is unoccupied but I suspect damage to the house if the damage in that area is like I saw along the parkway.

Mike, I'm pretty sure that the Yeaman area was hit hard and is probably still out of electric unless they are on Meade Co RECC. Short Creek store was open today. Holler at me the next time your coming thur and we will get together.

I feel like hollering now. Spent the afternoon lopping off fallen branches and packing them over to the fire. The doctor told me about 4 years ago that my back was shot and to never bend over again. The old back is telling me he was right. I'm maybe a third done here in Beaver Dam and have to clean up three more places in western KY and 2 places in Louisville for some folks that are too old to clean up the mess themselves and can't afford to hire anyone. I forsee a few trips to the physical therapist in Glasgow. Can't remember his name but he's a miracle worker.
