And now I'm ready for a Revolution. Last year's taxes were bad. This year's are SCARY bad, and our income didn't go up but by just a very tiny bit. No kids, and we both work instead of laying on our asses drawing checks, so.. we have to pay a friggin' fortune.
The economy is shot, no one's jobs are safe, there are no jobs out there if we lose ours, no one is getting any raises or cost of living adjustments even if they have a job, health insurance is fast becoming a rich man's luxury, groceries cost $20 a bag at the store, the politicians don't give a flying crap about any of us, and now Uncle Sam has his hand out for a lot of money that we don't have.
I'm sick of it. Sick to death. :(

"But after days of absorbing rhetorical attacks, Obama and Senate Democrats mounted a counteroffensive against Republicans who say tax cuts alone can cure the economy.
Obama said the criticisms he has heard "echo the very same failed economic theories that led us into this crisis in the first place, the notion that tax cuts alone will solve all our problems."
"I reject those theories, and so did the American people when they went to the polls in November and voted resoundingly for change," said the president, who was elected with an Electoral College landslide last fall and enjoys high public approval ratings at the outset of his term."

I owe Ky this year. I just looked at my pay stub on line and about hit the roof. I worked 12 hrs holiday last pay period, MLK day. And I picked up 8 hrs OT on top of the 8 hrs OT I have already built into my shift and I only made $6 dollars more on my check. Talking about PO I'm not a happy camper right now.
It's everyone. I was talking to a freind last night and he is in dire straights and for that matter just about everyone I talk too is broke or going broke. Something needs to happen and soon. But it isn't not until these Lying SOB politicans start enduring the hardships that we experiancing. I agree it's time for a revolution

You can get that warm and fuzzy feeling knowing that the next time you drive by your local section 8 housing and see that unmarried couple sitting outside with there 8 kids running all over the place and the dad selling crack, just know that you pay there way for them and they need more. Feel good in knowing your supporting all those who don't care and more than likely never will. Work harder more people who don't depend on your check my man. You can't leave out those who won't do for themselves they have the right to a decent life just like you, it's up to you to pay for it. Don't let them down.
Like the rest of us, I bet you thought that $600 stimulus check was nice last year. It's not so nice when you do your taxes and they take it right back.:D

Yeah, I'm scared to death on my taxes......... :( I have a lot more expenses this year due to farm repairs, and not quite as much income as I made last year, but somehow, I feel that I am going to get bent over and shafted...............
Mark it down for 1 more ready for the revolution..............

I told you so!!!
The socialists will never admit that it was their micro-managing the banking and housing industry that got us in this mess. Since they did most of it on Bush's watch and the RINOS went along with it, it became Bush's fault.Look up the Community Reinvestment Act.
Obama is a disciple of several socialist/communists esp. Saul Alinski. In his book "Rules For Radicals" Alinski laid out the blueprint for socialist take over of this country. It started by brainwashing our future teachers and school administrators in the 60s. They have since brainwashed enough lemmings to follow their lead that they put their messiah in the White House (I use the term White House very loosely). Once they got 51% of the country believing that Uncle Sucker owed them everything and somebody else should pay for it, we got Nov.4th.
I see it as two choices; work our azzes off campaigning for CONSERVATIVE candidates (not RINOS like McConnell) or kill them all. Since murder and mayhem is still considered politically incorrect, I say we beat them at the ballot box. The other option will still be there if needed.

What????
Of course, I'm assuming that you guys aren't rich either, but I thought the U.S. Gov't was going to end taxes on the "middle class" and provide us with free money until we die.
What happened to the Obama plan?

I try to steer clear of most political / economic subjects but I'll add a rant on this occasion...
The economy has everyone rattled and financially speaking... I've second guessed a lot of my decisions lately. In that same thought... I dont know anyone who has'nt. Things are tight for all of us and I just personally dont see it getting better for some time.
I also dont think Auk was necessarily posting his fustration to turn this into a Republican vs. Democrat debate. I think it was a general statement that focus has been lost by all politicians regardless of affiliation.
Every administration for as long as I can remember...republican & democrat ..has somewhat changed the tax structure. There has been good, bad & otherwise ...that just dont effect the average working family in Kentucky. Their oblivious to everyday struggles or living from pay check to pay check. Things such as the higher fuel / energy cost along with groceries / health care and the normal unexpected needs that arise has most incomes to the brink. Your average family who expects to get ahead is just butting their head against wall with what were dealing with at present. It's just a simple fact cost rose but incomes did not.
A good example in my opinion of lost focus concerning taxes & families is Child Tax Credits. I also filed my taxes yesterday and learned the age limitation was 16. Please understand or not confuse this with dependant ...the child tax credit is basically a $1000 exemption above & beyond normal deductions. I'd also say its been one of those rare exceptions to tax laws that have been most beneficial to all working families.
However... I'm not pointing fingers at republicans or democrats.. but what common sence in todays society declares the age of 16 as the last year qualifiying. I had assumed the age limitation was 18 along with still living at home and other exceptions.. but thats what I get for assuming anything. For most kids..17 is the age of our seniors in highschools ..and in certain circumstances depending on the age starting school... a good majority of our highschool juniors.
At this age when most families are preparing to further their childs education or career choice... eliminating a deduction just does'nt seem pratical. For most families... 17 & 18 year olds are living at home to finish highschool.. their still an expense. Probably the most expensive time of raising a child.
Dont get me wrong.... I'm glad this is in place to benefit families in general. I just think politicians again lost focus on the structure and just out of touch with family..or anyones common struggles.

I completely agree! Senior pictures, prom, graduation announcements and other expenses add up very quickly but seem like a bargain compared to college. I also assumed that children qualified for the tax credit until they became adults.

'cuse the ignorance, but I always assumed that a married couple would save more deduction wise filing joint-married.
