I know some of you suggested them, what brands do you all have? What was the price including installation? Looking for some reviews, I've read that some of them can last 25-30 years. If thats the case, I can swing the money!

I have the Central Boiler. I got the smallest one they make which is rated to heat 2000 sq ft. I love mine... All together i got around 6500 in it. But when the electric bill rolls in it's worth it;)

its holding up good. last year the tank got a pencil size hole in it and we fixed it very easily, i think what caused the hole was a bad weld. we replaced the insilation inside it last year just because of how old it was but to tell ya the truth when it snowed there would be snow accumilate on it just like the ground. i think we have replaced one water pump on it but it is very easy to change and not very expensive. if you do get an outdoor stove when u run lines to ur house make sure u put foam around the lines. we didnt and we lose heat from that (u can see where the lines are when it snows cuz thats where it melts first) all in all awesome stoves and very very warm

Hey what model do you have? there is such a huge jump from the 2nd smallest to third it's crazy, however i think that the 5036 model should do everything i need. it says it's 250k btu, 196 gallon water jacket. I figure it will do the job on this and later when I build my house it will be sufficient for that as well.

Other than the initial costs, and having to cut and load your wood, what are the drawbacks of the wood boiler? I am planning on building a house in a few years and am considering one.

well.... it's a wide mixed review of wht ones are good and such...

centrail boiler appears to be the best bet! at least thats the one that i keep returning too. taylor makes a good one, hardy's seem to be ok too.

i live in a double wide now, it's probably i donno, around 2150sqft or so..

but i'm planning on building a house as soon as this one is paid for.

it will probably be around 2500 sq ft.

i just got off the phone with a hardy dealer, he said their smallest unit would do the job of both, if i insulated the house i build pretty well.

he had a lot of good things to say about the hardy's. of course he should he sells them, but they have a lot of good qualities.

I stand by my central boiler...I know it's new but man that thing is a heating machine;) Gonna hook up the water heater this week and really cut that darn electric bill down! Be sure and look at all the features and construction of the units. I looked at em all and chose central boiler. They seem to know their business!

Yeah i know what your saying! shew.. a lil sticker shock for me.. you know, if it wasn't for the internet. i'd only know about the hardy, and wouldn't be able to compare useless tid-bits of information that drive you crazy.. central boilers look nice! so does the cadillac! hardy looks ok too! It's just gettin to me haha............

Does your central have a night light?

Yes of course it has a night light...you can even turn it on auto so it comes on with a photocell.. It actually has a light on the front and another on the side.

It has digital readout on the water temperature that can be adjusted with ease as well as an extra electric receptacle for easy use if you have to work on or around it. Like i've said before i'm very satisfied with it!

I went today and looked at a guy's Hardy unit he had up and running. Man o man.... I popped the door on that sucker and looked inside, the heat rolling out of there was tremendous.

I had heard from others that you could easiliy burn 18 truck loads of wood per winter. Well, I asked him. He said well there is my wood pile, he said i've used 2 rows of it. The wood pile was 16ft long and 4 1/2' High. 2 rows since Mid september. He started it in September for the hot water, added wood to it every 3 days. Fills it once daily now, twice if it's near zero.

great looking machine in person!
