If you don't know GOD, don't make stupid remarks!!!!!!

A United States Marine was attending some college courses between assignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan . One of the courses had a professor who was an avowed atheist, and a member of the ACLU.

One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, GOD if you are real then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15 min.' The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop. Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, 'Here I am GOD, I'm still waiting.
'

It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got out of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him; knocking him off the platform. The professor was out cold. The Marine went back to his seat and sat there, silently.

The other students were shocked and stunned, and sat there looking on in silence.
The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine and asked, 'What in the world is the matter with you? 'Why did you do that?'

The Marine calmly replied, 'GOD was too busy today protecting America 's soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid stuff and act like an idiot. So He sent me.
'

The classroom erupted in cheers!

i love it.... a professor or any teacher for that matter does not have the right to push atheism or religous beliefs on students....leave it to the parents and hopefully they will find Christ;)

Well then, if I knew I could go around and knock people out that I don't agree with, blame it on God, and then get applause and unanimous gratitude then maybe I should look into this Christianity thing a little more.:D

Why not just leave it in context and take it for what was said.

The last "God" thread you said you had to defend yourself.....why did you feel so inclined to jump into another one when no one was attacking you? You said you were tired of the other one yet you still can't find a way to stay out of this one. Surely you dont feel so threatened that you must defend the opposing point of view everytime God is brought up......Like I said way back when...Some people just like to stir the pot.

Once again, you are having trouble with my opinion because you don't agree. You are basically saying that I have no right to post my opinion when it differs with yours. If you have the right to post one religious thread after another, then I have a right to give my opinion as well. If you can't live with that, just put me on your ignore list and you won't have to read any of my stupid crap ever again.

I said something as a joke because this idiotic story was posted up. Whomever wrote this piece was doing something that I think went way over most of your heads. They used two figures that they know the average person will never question the actions of, even when it comes to physical assault against teachers and freedom of speech. They did it to see how far you guys would go when it comes to defending the actions of God and Military people. It's not surprising you guys bought it hook, line, and sinker.

BTW, I'm not the one here who takes anything person. I do this for fun, and the purpose of conversation. I like to make people think outside their comfort zone, because if nothing else it gives opportunity to defend your beliefs. There's quite a difference between internet threats, a feel good chain letter, and reality.:D

Do you set down at the mall every Christmas so you can tell all the children that the Santa they are standing in line to see isn't real. For surely it would be your duty to do so. You must show them the grievous error they are making and set them straight. :D

Am I the only one that sees you contradicting yourself in every sentence here? Surely to God:D you are doing that on purpose, otherwise it's a bit schizo.:D

I already explained that I just like to add to the discussion, and hopefully make others think and articulate their point of views. Perhaps you are not comfortable doing that and you believe whatever you say is the FINAL word that nobody (me) has a right to debate or question. According to you, you are not bothered by me, but you know I "get off" by causing trouble. I think I follow all forum rules and I try to be respectful to everyone. You think otherwise, but that doesn't bother you now does it?

No, I don't care if kids believe in Santa or not. They will eventually find out that he's not real. Usually by the time they are 10 or so, they can reason enough to think something is up with believing that a man who supposedly knows everything about every kid on earth, and can visit each one at the same time all across the world really isn't real. If they started to feel so inclined to tell me that I was going to spend eternity in hell if I don't believe in Santa and I was a bad person because of my beliefs, then yeah, I might tell them. Come to think of it, some kids have actually seen Santa and they know he is real. He even ate their cookies!:D

Who are they?

I am using "they" to describe whomever came up with this fairy tale. I suppose it could be a he, a she, or both. I have a feeling that whoever created it was either doing it as some sort of social experiment to see peoples reactions OR they were too stupid to think that someone might question the authenticity of the story. Then again, it could just be some sort of joke, in which case would make me look pretty silly.:D

What someone considers an "intelligent" opinion is subjective. My opinion may seem stupid to you, but to someone else, it may be the most intelligent thing in a particular thread. At the end of the day, it's just an opinion. I'm not claiming to be right or wrong.

I'm not trying to offend anyone, I like to discuss and debate all sorts of things. I didn't get almost 9,000 posts by lurking and agreeing with everything posted here.:D If I have any knowledge or an opinion on something, I'll give it. That's what these forums are for. It is somewhat disheartening to see that some of those on the offensive against me have made very few, if any posts on any other subject here aside from religion. It's kind of one dimensional. :)

IMO...We need not to attack or even get one bit frustrated with Art...Art has his own opinions and we have ours...and you guys getting mad at him is only going to make him disagree with what we believe even more so lighten up and if it is Gods will for Art to have the personal relationship with Christ, then trust me, God will make it happen, so there is no excuse for getting mad at him...This story is a story that I used as an example of Gods love at the bible study that I lead on the campus of UK...

Luke 7:40 And Jesus answering said to him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.” And he answered, “Say it, Teacher.”

Luke 7:41 “A certain moneylender had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.

Luke 7:42 “When they could not pay, he cancelled the debt of both. Now which of them will love him more?”

Luke 7:43 Simon answered, “The one, I suppose, for whom he cancelled the larger debt.” And he said to him, “You have judged rightly.”

Luke 7:44 Then turning toward the woman he said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.

Luke 7:45 “You gave me no kiss, but from the time I came in she has not ceased to kiss my feet.

Luke 7:46 “You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment.

Luke 7:47 “Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven—for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little.”

Luke 7:48 And he said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”

This is just one example of the love that Christ expressed. We should show people like Art the love that Christ showed us so that he will LOVE our Christ, just as Christ shows his love for everyone.

OK Art....Lets say you post something great about your wife or kids and how great they are....just for fun. In your opinion every word is true.

Then someone else replies that they are horrible people and everything you said was a lie. Maybe they don't know your wife or kids but they just couldn't believe that anything you said could ever be true.

Now that person has every right to reply to your post but what good did it do? Did they change your mind about the way you feel for your wife? Can they prove you are telling lies? I would say about the only thing that would come from such an interaction would be hard feeling and for what?

Thats all that comes from your "right" to talk bad about Christains or religion. You said it was fun and you feel you must educate everyone. Well you know you will never change anyones mind and it serves no purpose other than stir the pot. So why do it? No one is seeking your opinion on these God threads yet you still find it irresistible not to butt in and talk bad about something thats very dear to their hearts. The same as it would be if someone said it about your kids or wife or mother. Maybe you need a hobbie other than persecuting others and their beliefs.....but hey it's your right I guess.....and it's accomplish so much.

Comparing God to my wife isn't very realistic.:D So the truth finally comes out. You DO have a problem with me and my opinions as it relates to this subject, for you to claim otherwise would be futile at this point.

I got news for you. When you post something on a public forum, you better be able to handle other peoples opinions. If you guys want to have spiritual back rubs and use biblical mumbo jumbo as your signatures, you have the right to do so. I also have a right to give my opinion if it's in public, which it is. Maybe you need to either take these discussions to church or quit worrying about someone who doesn't share all of your opinions and beliefs. You're not going to do either though, because deep down you feel you are 100% correct and you have every right whereas I'm 100% wrong and have no rights. It's that attitude that drew me into these threads in the first place.

Art, you do have the right to believe whatever you want, even God said that. As Christians we are supposed to tell people our faith and beliefs, that is our obligation. You do not have to accept that as the truth but we are supposed to tell you about it. We have that right and you do have yours as well. If I tell you something that I think is right then that is my opinion, if I tell you something that I know is right then that is my belief and my faith. Surely you can understand this. If you dont believe in anything then what is your belief based on. Nothing. and you have the right to believe in nothing. The biblical mumbo jumbo thing was a little harsh, but Jesus spoke some of that mumbo jumbo and they killed him. So what can we expect.

I understand all of that, and I don't have a problem with it for the most part. Where things get kind of shady on the subject seems to be when I refuse to think like you guys. I have not once said you are wrong (despite whatever WMWilson says), I have even said that I could be wrong. I just don't believe in the same things you do. Art, you can believe the way you wish tell the day you die. I cant change that. The thing I have trouble with is why you come on here causing trouble when you could pass it up. The reason is just like I said, you are a trouble maker and I would bet anyone who knows you would say the same...just guessing here but I know the type. You get a kick out of being a thorn in someones side. Its not your veiw on the subject that bothers me....Its just the fact that there a people like you that have nothing better to do than cause trouble.....and the wife analogy is dead on.

Your bitter, cynical persona shines through with every word you type. I picture you as a cross between Oscar the Grouch and Doyle Hardgrave..the avitar you have says it all. I can see you kicking all, or the few buddies you have, out of your house like Doyle did.:D As a matter of fact when I read your post I hear it in Doyles voice. Isnt that funny.

Hmm. You call is "causing trouble" , I call it having a different opinion. You say I "like being a thorn in people's side", I call it freedom of speech.

I tell you what, if you think I'm just a no good, dirty, good for nothin punk who everyone hates and is known everywhere as a trouble maker then maybe we should make a bet.

Why don't I give you any information you want about me. A list of all my friends (w/ phone numbers of course), my neighbors, a copy of my credit report, my employers past and present, permission for a background check, the names of all of my former teachers and coaches, teammates a list of all my educational institutions, ex-girl friends, forum members whom I have met face to face, and ANYTHING else you want. You can take 30 days to do your research. If you can find one person who agrees with you, if you can find one instance where I have been into ANY form of trouble, or you can find one person that thinks I'm a "trouble maker", I'll send a donation of $100 to your church.

What do you say? Sounds like a slam dunk for someone who is obviously an expert judge of character..
