the florida team looked pretty good... kentucky didn't have a great game but i saw a few things today that i liked.

landon slone could be a real big help over the next few years, i watched him play before and when he gets his confidence up he could be a scoring threat as well. seems he was always scoring 30 or so in highschool games and hitting hard shots. I think once he gets his confidence up he'll be able to help out, and how about his D..

patterson looked good as always.

darius miller... man, he's been a disappointment. he's such an athletic guy, such a scorer, and has the confidence of me coming in off the street to play with those guys. you can just look at him and tell he's not compfortable at all.. he needs to loosen up and bring his a game that we know he has.. i really think he could be a 13-15ppg man for the cats if he just had a bit of confidence..

Watched the first half and had to turn the tv off. What a let down in the first half, they played no team defense.

Didn't get to watch, but heard it was sloppy.

FAU sucks. They played no defense as obvious by turnover prone UK only having 7 turns the whole night.

Pat had a great game, and UK's rebounding was terrific all game. If UK had hit ever 1/3rd of their 3s, the game would have been a lot different. 2 for 18 just doesn't get it done.

If everyone comes to play, they can play with just about anybody. If a couple of people fail to show up, anybody can beat them. They did just enough to win today, but that won't fly against UL or in the SEC.

i'm not to worried about it........

they did what they had to do today.. defense could have been better, slone was excellent on d however.

fau got about every break they could have gotten for much of the game, sometimes the ball doesn't go in, and there ain't much you can do about it besides go on to the next game. like someone said, if the cats would have hit there avg on 3 pct the game would have been ugly for fau.

Huh??? Those FAU guards went around him like he was a statue the whole game. Where did you see excellence in his defense??

I'm siding with Scott on this one. Slone did play some pretty good D. Yeah, he got taken off the dribble a few times, but he also busted up some plays by disrupting the ball handler. Obviously Gillispie saw this too, because he played a ton of minutes. He sure wasn't in there for his offense, because he reminded me of Sparks out there laying brick after brick.:D

This team doesn't have a single on the ball defensive stopper. Every player on the team gets taken off the dribble multiple times each game. What they rely on is help D. When the guards really look stupid is when they get no help. That happens a lot. How many times this year have we seen a PG take his man at the top of the key, and drive right past 3 UK players for an untouched layup? It happens WAY too much. That's when the Sub-way on the UK bench opens up and we have a hard time finding a rhythm with players coming and going every 30 seconds.

nope, I think he's terrible as well although that was his best game of the season. He had no on the ball pressure, however; Gimel Martinez could have been playing point and only had 1 turnover against FAU. :) Jarvis apparently has not watched any UK game tape. How do you not press the Cats this year, lol??

shewwwwww. slone came up big on a lot of plays....... he didn't get burnt no more than any other ky player does in any game... the couple times a guy got by him, it was late in the game and it was obvious he was winded........

a kid who turns down scholarships to come play for a team he loves is there for the right reason and often that will mean more than anything.

as far as his shooting, shooting is all mental, once he feels compfortable i think he'll be just fine. he poured in 34 or 37 in rupp during last years sweet 16, he's a shooter, just give him a chance

and he wouldn't have got 2 minutes if he was getting his butt burnt all the time, gillispie applauded him everythime you looked up! he rewarded him for his effort with playing time!

don't get me wrong, Scott; I'm glad he's at UK and was rewarded with playing time. His defense wasn't that hot though. Hopefully, he'll be as good as another Paintsville boy who comes to mind. ;)
