When you actually wake up earlier than they do on Christmas morning. First time that has ever happened in my household. :)

I was awake and just lying in bed listening this morning when my oldest (age 7) woke up a little before 7 eastern time. He ran down the hall without even looking in our room as he flew past. I heard him exclaim "He came, Santa was here"! Then back down the hall to wake his little brother and sister. We all got up and came down the hall to open gifts. They are each in thier own little worlds now, playing with new toys and video games. It was a great Christmas morning. I am sitting here now reading the instructions on a model rocket that launches 1200 feet into the air.:D I think Hunter (the 7 year old) is starting to question, this might be his last Christmas a true Santa believer.:( The first thing Pot Roast did though was to run past his gifts into the kitchen to see if Santa ate his cookies and the deer ate the carrots, they did and he was happy.

I was awake at 4:00 this morning, with my 9 year old daughter and 15 year old son. I asked who got up first , and it was my 14 year old. I told them to go back to sleep for one more hour, but sleep was nowhere to be found. We went ahead and got up, opened gifts, and had breakfast. I really don't mind. One day, I know I will miss the little feet and early risings on Christmas morning.

I have a 7 year old boy and 4 year old girl and both almost caught Santa last night bringing presents in around 2:30 as mom got woke up at 3 with him wanting to know if santa had came. Again at 7 and then when my wife got up at 8 he was sitting up in the bed wanting to know if it was to early to open presents. My girl has told me 10 times what all Santa brought her lol it sure is fun but as said before my son is catching on he opened a present with his name on it but it was for his sister, he told me I put the wrong name on it. He is still inbetween believing, a boy at school told him Santa wasnt real he caught his mom and dad last year putting presents under his tree. I told him it was because that boy had been mean, my boy said yeah thats what i told him lol, but it is true that kid is mean lol.

In a way I envy you guys with the young kids, but I don't want mine to be that young again. What is really funny is that in 3 weeks my daughter turns 16 and she could care less about Christmas presents, she is worried about the big 16 and permits, and car insurance and boys and UGHH!;)

Merry Christmas eveyone!

Edit: Forgot to say, my son is stoked about the Pacers vs. Cavs tickets!

4am my 6yo was in our bed yelling "Santa came, Santa, came!!!" I responed with "Go back to sleep, he may not be done yet!" lol So he went back to bed. Then at 5:30am, the 6yo was in our bed again and the 9yo was standing there holding the 17mo.

Yep, time to get up. 1st Christmas my 17mo was able to open his own presents. True joy.

The 9yo is starting to suspect though, I found where he was searching the net if Santa was real. His days are over I would dare say. It's been a fun ride though, and still have 2 more to provide years of excitement.

They all made out like bandits, even the wife, course all I got was a back massager for my puter chair.

But it's the memories that are worth more than anything, never will forget the smiles and laughter. Every Christmas is special.

1st one without my Dad as he passed in Oct. Mom passed in Oct 94, hard for sure, but my boys only knew their Pa, took them to the cemetary so they could tell my parents Merry Christmas.

We had to instate a rule that nobody could open a gift until at least 6:00 am. Otherwise they would be yanking them out of Santa's hands and opening them on the spot.

Side Note: My ex's oldest brother would always tell the 5 younger siblings that Santa had an accident, Santa got food poisoning, etc., typical oldest brother stuff. One year he got up early and cracked a bunch of walnuts and spread the broken hulls in the hallway. About 5:30 am he flips on all the lights and starts yelling, "Santa came! Santa came!" All the youngsters came flying barefoot down the hall, rounded the corner and hit the walnut hulls. I was told that everybody lost the Christmas spirit that year.:D
