Can anyone around here recommend a good gunsmith in NKY. I was referred by someone to a guy located near the Lloyd WMA. Said he does good work and is trustworthy. Don't have his name and can't find him on-line.
My Pop gave me the Remington 582 .22 I learned to shoot on 30+ years ago. Looks like a museum piece but has not been shot in over 20 years. Saftey and trigger seems to be locked up (maybe its just me not figuring something out) so I want someone to go through it before I start putting my kids through the paces on it. Thanks in advance.

Try some REM oil and a compressed air hoze on it first. I hear whats his name in Newport is a jerk. Cant think of his name offhand. I would like to know of one on Crittenden too.

I called a dealer in Dry Ridge and he is the one who told me about the guy in Crittenden. Said he refers all of his business to this gunsmith. Said if you go to Lloyd, cross the tracks (near entrance to firing range) and he is on that road with a sign in his front yard. Said he does really great work and is trustworthy. Said often times he'll do the work while you wait.

Phil, that must be the guy. Dealer in Dry Ridge said he used to use a guy in Williamstown but now refers all of his customers to this guy. I'll get the dealer's name for you.
