Either one is fine. Just a matter of choice.

the dovetail dont have any windage adjustment, they say they are rock solid. Is there a need for the windage adjustment or can you just do that with the scope

Personally, I highly prefer dual dovetail, because once mounted, it's TOTALLY bombproof and NOTHING to EVER come loose. I had a rear screw come loose (or somebody loosened it for me), just enough to throw poi off a few feet at 300 yards. It was enough to make me swear off that kind of bases UNLESS I use red loc-tite on the 2 rear screws. Another thing to think about is if you are mounting a GOOD scope you know you'll NEVER have to remove or change, use the dual dovetail mount.

Here's a couple of websites that should aid you in selecting mounts & Rings:

The website says LOW rings. Do you guys use low rings on a 40mm scope. I think a gunsmith told me one time I should use medium because i have a long neck?? LOL

I've never been able to use low rings on a 40mm scope. I've even had trouble with medium rings, sometimes. Your mileage may vary but I'd look at either medium or high rings if it were mine.

If you have a Browning A-Bolt then you can use low rings, due to the bolt handle of the Browning. Otherwise I'd use Medium rings.
