I really like mine. I've had it about a year or so now. I've not had any problems with it whatsoever. I have shot mostly turkey loads (patterning) and about 2 boxes shooting clays with both high and low brass. It shoulders real well and didn't break the bank buying it. I've heard both good and bad about them (like most guns) but I really like mine. Good luck with it.

I recently bought 1 as an alternative to scratching up the beautiful wood on my 12 ga benelli legacy. The main reason that attracted me to it in the first place is the fact it has the same type operating syatem as the benelli-inertia system. So far it's easily digested everything from the lightest 2 3/4" target loads to the strongest 3" lead turkey loads without the 1st hiccup. Nice handling, light weight, very good patterns, comes with FIVE choke tubes (including xtra full extended turkey tube), what's NOT to love-ESPECIALLY in a shotgun just over 400$?

I don't have one but my hunting partner does. We mostly hunt waterfowl. My Xtrema 2 is in the shop so I am using a back up gun while my buddy is still plugging away with his 2000.
I went with the Xtrema 2 because I like to shoot 3 and 1/2 inch loads at geese, but looks like I would have been better off with the Stoeger this year.
From what I understand the biggest difference between the stoeger and and Beretta or Benelli is the high cost of labor because Stoeger doesn't have to deal with the European Union. In fact I have a dvd that shows the Stoeger plant making barrels for Beretta.

Benelli owns Stoeger, don't they?

Benelli and Stoeger are owned by Beretta. They also own Franchi, Uberti, SAKO, Tikka and Burris Optics.

Regardless of who owns who, the Stoeger is the best shotgun per dollar on the market. I would HIGHLY reccomend however, if you do get 1, BE SURE and get the new model. They switched from old model to new model when bought out by benelli (or beretta?) and when they did, they TOTALLY revamped to all new tooling-hence new model, as opposed to the "old" model which was made on aging worn equipment so had extensive tooling marks/burrs/etc. The only 2 external differences between the 2 are new model has slightly higher vent rib (which is impossible to determine without seeing both side by side, and the main easily spotted difference is new models have fiber optic front beads. If you DO get an old model, don't fret as all you have to do is disassemble and polish interior parts with dremel or some other polisher. Hope this helps. Neil

I agree Stalkingbear, I don't know how long the M2000 will sell that cheap once the secret is out. Dollar for dollar the best deal going right now.
