Why are you taking it apart?
I did mine by accident and it was a pain to get back together. Your manual should say not to take them apart. There is a small bushing underneath if you loose that your are screwed and you will have a single shot. I wouldn't mess with it unless you have too. I had to have a gunsmith put mine back together.

Honestly, I don't recall them being staked in place, but it probably is a job for a smith to put it back together properly anyway. I'll be happy to do it for you. Just try not to mess it up before you send it to a gunsmith. Our rates sometimes go up when watched and even more when helped:eek:

Id like to take it apart for cleaning and to put on an adjustable gas block . They say its easier on the operating arm ect. It also spits the brass out close to you as I reload. They also say it helps the accuracy. Now I have an older model thats easier to get apart. I t fact its simple. Just take out the screws period. Yes those Idiots at Ruger started staking the screws on the new guns. My older one kept getting dirty quickly so I put on a new stainless nipple which works great!! Doesnt get dirty hardly at all. Only need to clean it every 1000 or so. I guess I could cut off the whole block with a Dremel if Im careful. By the way the newer barrels are a bit thicker but dont shoot much better than the old ones. Still Ive got it down to 1 and a half inches at 100 with a few flyers at times . ( on a good day with the right bullets and powder) Im a glutten for punishment have an Hbar AR that will shoot rings around it. Thanks
