Try contacting the Park Ranger at Lake Cumberland State Resort Park, or someone at the lodge They should have a map of the park and know what area's are open to hunt.

We rode back to Lure Lodge Christmas Eve. There was a pretty good sized herd feeding on the golf course there. One of them was a pretty respectable 8-pointer. He let me "stalk" to within pitching-wedge distance of the green he was feeding on. I don't remember which hole it was, but it's the second one from the parking lot. Also, saw a couple of fork-horns, and several does. All in all, we saw about 20 deer on the road back to Lure Lodge.
Beautiful country down there!!
Good Luck!

Hey Deadaim,
The problem with that hunt is (unless they changed it this year), you can't hunt around the golf course or lodge, which is where most of the deer are. The terrain is VERY steep, so you better make a real good shot, or you will have one heck of a drag! I hunted there last year, and when I left on Sunday, 2 deer had been harvested. The weather was very rough, however. Good luck. There are lots of deer out there.

This is probably the worst choice of all the quota hunts the way they currently have it set up. You can't hunt the areas where the deer are. If you are looking for a good weekend afield some of the views of the lake are great, just don't go down there expecting to see a lot of deer while hunting.

thanks for the info they sent me a map today and sure enuf the golf area and cotteges are off limits including the rest of the park that does not have at least a 100 foot drop what about the little island just off the park called logan island it is open to hunting i could bring a boat if need be do you guys know of any good spots that are on the main road side of the first boat ramp or any other suggestions like opening up the golf area to bow hunting or slug .

I worked in the park for 5 yr and hunted it one time and that will be my last unless they change the zone area. If I was you I would check out the boat ramp road on the left going down to the lake deer will be pushed making there way to the lodge and golf course. Check out the trail behind the maintance build some real good trails leading to the cottage. I haven't been down there this year but, the year I hunted it the buck had already dropped there antlers I hope you have better luck than I did.
