In today's CJ, Gassett is meeting with Louisville officials. Also, it will not close on the 14th. now they are saying it will remain open until the first of the year.

I live only about 10 minutes from there so as much as I would love to have a WMA that
close this sucks. There is so many different things people can do there that if they can't keep the campground, hiking trails,
and the disc golf course open than I'm not for it.

I went camping there as a kid with school, it was great the cemetery & the cave is the best, at least when you 10!

With the parks location so close to Louisville and a size of around 3000 acres, I would imagine that if KDFRW did aquire the land deer & turkey hunting would be on some type of draw. Small Game hunting should be pretty good, with all the hardwoods and broken areas.

If this happens I hope they still keep it open for fishing. I worked for a local paper there for years and used to fly fish there on my lunch break.
