Just curious as to what all of you Wildcat fans think about the hire.

I'm personally fired up about it. Especially when ole dad, Monte, makes his way to knoxville.

Have a hard time seeing how he's qualified for the job. 3 years ago he couldn't get the Minnesota job and then crazy Al Davis made him head coach of the Raiders where he won 5 games before being fired. He may turn out OK, but IMO, he's a gamble at this point.

I think its a very risky hire. I could be wrong, but I think they are looking for a new coach again in 3 years. Everybody is fired up about his dad becoming the D-coordinator. Tenn didn't have any problems with defense, they were one of the tops in the nation. They just couldn't score points.

I think he's a HUGE gamble. Even though I'm a Kentuckian, I really like UT football and I think they really treated Coach Fulmer terribly. I hope this decision bites them in the !@# and that they regrett the day they signed LK. He is definitely not a proven commodity!

Almost an exact repeat of Indiana Basketball.... Had a great coach in Bob Knight and hired an assistant in Mike Davis, who turns out to not be able to do the job right. Then hire a thug coach in Sampson, who gets axed not even two years into his contract for more thug doings......

UT had a great coach, who has slid down the line a bit, but could still coach UT. Now UT is bringing in a sub par coach who couldn't make it in the Pro's with only 5 wins in his tenure.... I think it's a bad move on UT's part, another coach hiring will be in the plan in less than two years......

Same thing will happen at U of L in the next year if Klugthorpe doesn't get to a Bowl Game next year......
