I'm thinking about purchasing this rifle for my son. It has a .22 LR, 20 gauge, And .243 barrel with it. I've read some reviews and don't know what to do. I have noticed that is has a 22 inch .243 barrel. From what I've read, I think they used to be shorter. Any comments, good or bad, would be greatly appreciated. Just don't want to take any chances on buying a product that won't satisfy me.

I just bought one today. I got the 20/.243 for my son.Really great price. It locks up tight, both barrels. Changes over in just a few steps, dont even need a screwdriver. I went after the one you are talking about, but the length of pull on the "Trifecta" is only 12 1/2 '' way to short for him. so I went with the full size. The sales man told me they only make the trifecta in youth size. I haven fired it yet but sure will christmas morn.:D

cheap guns don't appeal to me... my lil cousin has one.. doesn't shoot to well....... .243 won't stay in 3" at 50 yards

My eight year old son has the 243, not the "Trifecta" or "Triple Threat", but just the youth model single shot. It shoots great, holds 1.5 inch groups (3 shots) at 100yds, thats pretty good for a gun of this price to me.

He killed his first deer with it this year, a 7 point Buck, at 158 yds with a range finder.

Great starter gun, IMO.

I've sold atleast 50 trifectas in the last 4 months alone. I haven't had one person complain about them...infact several have come back to buy another for their other child that isn't quite big enough to use it yet.

Well, he's only eight, and it was his first deer, so I would say no doubt luck was on his side (but we do shoot alot), but when I set the scope on it me and a buddy straped it in to a Lead Sled and it shot great.

Maybe I bought one of the better ones, can't really say as it's the only one I have any experience with, but it does shoot very good.

You know how it is, two guns made back to back may shoot like night and day.

the .22 shoots fine.... but the .243 won't do worth a crap.. could just be a bad barrel or something.. i checked mounts/rings/ and all that

My son has one and has taken two deer with the .243. The .243 and .22 are tapped for scopes. His is a tack driver out to 100 yards. We have never put the .22 barrel on it. I have been well pleased with the performance.

Nathan,

I bought the set for my daughter and I ahve no complaints with it. It does NOT like anythign under 100grs. in .243 but it shoots about 1.5" at 100. I have not tried the .22 out yet. I do like the extra safety on the side of the receiver.
