has anyone hunted around morehead?how much pressure,and what kind of turkey population?

Live in Bath County, DBNF has lots of pressure. It looks real big on the map, but we have a lot of Ohioans come down from southern ohio. Most of the access roads during opening week are full at each pull off out by the lake. Turkey pop is about average, typical early season, gobble on roost then shut up. Northern Rowan County looks better than average seen alot in the fields. If the lake stays down I would try going up what is called Paragon off 519, North of Morehead.

I mostly hunt private land, but do get on public for awhile. Have had good luck after opening weekend. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

PS stop by the USFS office off 801 and get a map, some of the hollows are deep and steep.
