Sportman's warehouse in lexington has a AR 50 for sale....Never realized how big a BMG is until I saw this one up close. Costs 5 bucks every time you pull the trigger.

yea I seen one a Whittakers. They are huge! no wonder why they talk about how little they kick! They had this one's price marked just above 9500! little steep for me! would be great to put up in a tower stand and knock off some yotes and der with though!

At that price you would be talking about the 82A1 Barrett. Armalite makes the AR50 and its usually around the $3000 mark. I have one where I work, its nice to say I get to play with a 50BMG at the mall and get paid for it:D

I believe the price at Sportsman's Warehouse ($4900 IIRC) included a NightForce scope...By itself it was in the $3000 range. Had I not just picked up a Colt 6920 eariler in the day, I might of convinced myself that I needed it!:)

I think you would not have to worry about following a blood trail afterwards.... Don't you need really long range for this thing? I know the scopes can be adjusted, but I don't think this is a 100 yard or less gun. Sporterize the barrel and it would be the worlds best brush gun... Shoot through 12 inch trees and hit the deer on the other side...or miss and the tree falls on the deer killing it;)

Well I have a field behind the house here that if I built a tower stand in the middel of it it would be about 5-700 yards to each end and 250 to the edge so I'd say it would be just right for me! As for my former remark on the price now that I think about it it was a 82A1 Barrett with scope included!

I actually think this one is pretty cheap. I have seen them forsale online for will over 10K.... I guess you get what you pay for. Maybe this one is the Redryder version and the others are of Beeman quality

AR50 is the real deal, with Barrett you are still getting the real deal, but paying alot for the name as well. Now, pick up a Barret 107 and an AR50 and you will also see the price difference...the Barrett weighs HALF the AR50. I'd love to have an AR50 though....and as for blood trailing something you shot with it, there would be a blood trail but it would be in a circle and look like a paint can exploded:eek:

Somewhere I read a magazine article where they were deer hunting with one. They did it just like a military sniper team would--one gauged the distance and wind and the other pulled the trigger. And they were shooting them 1000 yards away. I believe it said that they wouldn't take a shot under 600 yards. I also remember them saying that while it dropped them where they stood, at those distances, it didn't tear up the meat any worse than any other common deer rifle.
