Regardless of where you go, full time on campus is ALWAYS best unless you just want to apprentice for several years. Good gunsmithing trade schools qualify for student loans/grants, and average 4 years in length. Naturally only this applies IF you're considering a career in gunsmithing due to the tremendous cost of time and money. If you're thinking about just doing work on your own firearms as a hobby, stay AWAY from online or mailorder "gunsmithing schools", as they're almost always ripoffs and overpriced-especially for the actual amount of instruction you'll recieve.
What I would suggest IF meant for hobby working on own firearms,is stocking up on all the armorer's courses, manuals, and dvds available for the particular type you're going to be working on, and studying them CAREFULLY before attempting anything.
