Just a little reminder, those mean little bausterds, ticks are out.[}:)]
Time to get Permathone out and spray the clothes before you hit the woods. Lymes disease is for real.[V][B)]

VS,
That is a good warning for everyone. I can tell you nobody wants to get Lymes, it's no fun. I got it a couple years back. Don't let anyone tell you it's not in KY.

You know everything you read is about removing the large ticks, but what about when one of those little *&^%$#$%% seed ticks get in you? What do you all do for them? I've done everything I can think of, but no matter what, its about two weeks to get rid of it.

My hide is getting a "little thin" with age.Once they bite, inject chemical to keep bite flowing, takes a couple weeks to heal.[V][B)]

Found two ticks Wednesday (April, 7th) on my dog. They are out for sure.

I've treated all my clothes a few weeks ago with permethone, and will do so again before the opener.
Watch out for snakes too; I killed a few yesterday.

What type of ticks y'all seeing? I notice many of you are from western KY. Last year I turkey hunted Muhlenberg County and had small ticks with litle white dots on them all over me. I think they are called "Lone Stars"?????? I've never seen one of those before in my life! Scare H$ll outta me, thought I was gonna Rocky Mt Blue Tongue Spotted Lyme Cootties!!!! Only tick I have ever seen before is the common old brown dog tick. Has anyone east ever seen a small black tick with a small white dot on its back?

GSP here's a site for you on tick's, http://www.ent.iastate.edu/imagegal/ticks/ with some pic's for indentification. The ticks you described would be the lonestar tick. There is a pic on that site with both side by side.
Yep, that's the critter! I found this site today (have to work today so might as well do something[:D]) that sezs Lonestar ticks are common to Weastern and South Central KY. http://www.uky.edu/Agriculture/Entomology/entfacts/struct/ef618.htm
I just know that I had never seen one before last year when I was in Muhlenberg County and they were everywhere. Glad they ain't in East KY like they are down there.[:0]
