Had a great opening morning in Tennessee. I got set up on a gobbling bird at first light. Made a few calls he flew down and came right in. 25 yards, 22 lbs. 9" beard 1" spurs.

Went back to the truck and met up with my hunting buddy, who had heard me shoot. We went back into an area where I had heard another bird earlier. We were headed to the area and heard him gobbling, after 1.5 hours and several moves we had 2 lonbeards at 35 yards. #2 was 19 lbs. 10' paintbrush and 1" spurs. What a great morning, it just dosen't get any better.

Looks like you had a great morning. Congratulations to you and your buddy, good looking birds. Nice photos too. This was a really good morning to be out. We heard several gobblers, even had 'em struttin' in the road. I was surpised there weren't more youth hunters out. Tom

How was it? I've deep fried whole birds in peanut oil but not the breast only (I was afraid it would get greasy since there's no skin on it).
