That's 3 years in a row for M. South to be in the finals isn't it Mike?
My old fishing/bird hunting buddy is the director at Madisonville North, they did rather well (again) in AAAA.
Congratulation to all the kids involved, they all put in a lot of hard work.

Yes, we took 4th year before last, 1st last year and 2nd this year. I have NEVER seen kids more dedicated to anything. The time it takes and the disipline to march like that AND to play an instrument while doing that, is just amazing to me. and again, congrats to all. When my daughter was asked why Washington won......She stated, "They worked hard and had a great year." That sums it up.

12pointer.... congrats to Suns. We(Calloway) ended up 2nd as well to Madisonville North. Its our fourth consecutive trip to finals, with one 3rd(2005) and three 2nd place(06,07,08) placements to Madville. Its been a stuggle for the kids the last few weeks and although they would love nothing better to bring home 1st... 2nd brought a lot of smiles.
Congrats to Madisonville North... top knotch program and very respected by our kids. Glad two bands from the west took top honors in 4-A division.
Heres a few pics at Papa Johns....

Actually... we were in the top of 228...row ff. I took a bunch of pics...and had one of your youngun twirling a flag... but I'm having a hard time finding it. Glad to see her there.
The Suns had a good show.... tight competition. I thought ya'll had got the 1st spot...honestly.
4-A semi-finals were rough... we were 4th coming into finals. We were very..very.. pleased to end the season 2nd in the state 4-A.

Congratulations to all of them. Win or lose thats more work than anyone could imagine unless your involved with it.
My son was a trumpet player a few years back with marion county when they won state. We went to almost every competition they had. The practice hours these kids put in is unbelievable.
Congrats to the winners and everyone else.

You owe it to yourself and your kids to try and attend this at least one time.

Hey JD, which one is Buschogs daughter?
Mepp... all the white... I have trouble keeping up with my own kid unless she has her drum strapped on.
I will say this... buschog & his better half needs a big thank you from all us band parents. They pulled props on the field ...loaded & unloaded... all hours of the night... all season.
Most dont realize what it does take to move these kids & shows around. For Calloway... one semi-trailer, one equipment bus and three passenger busses, two trucks / trailers for "mules" to get the pit on the field, one truck / trailer for props, two suburbans for guard equipment, one truck / trailer for golf cart ( band director broke his leg), one truck / enclosed trailer for luggage on overnight trips... and countless other support vehicles. Heck of a caravan to get on the road.. not to mention fuel cost. It takes a heck of a booster program to make this happen.
Mepp... I had'nt mentioned it...congrats to Murray High on their 3rd place in class 1-A. Makes four years in a row Murray & Calloway have placed at state finals... pretty good feat for two schools of the same county. That does'nt happen often ....says a lot.

We usually do one BOA event during season. Very elaborate shows to say the least. I agree... everyone needs to see one of the grand national contest. Best of the best.

I have one at Mad North and am very proud of him. One of the best things they learn is what can happen when you do work hard...
Our band director told the kids after the regions that every band that makes the final four is a champion in his book.

Well a big ole Congrats to all who put their time towards this sort of Competition. Takes a lot of patience and discipline to make it all come together for these kids....
I never got into the Bands Comps. and all but I do know the kids that do, deserve a lot of respect and praise for giving their time to such a thing....
Congrats to all....:)

this was my 7th year attending, even though my oldest daughter graduated 2 years ago from Williamstown. FOr those who made it to this level, my hats off. Having served with my wife as band booster president for 4 years, this event is something real special for the young people. Couldnt have ordered any better weather this year.
Congrats to Williamstown, Washington County, Bourbon COunty, Madisonville NOrth Hopkins, and Lafayette for thier well deserved titles. And, cograts to all of the bands and thier supporters who participated. You are truly the cream of the crop.
Regards,
CHris

Congrat's to Murray HIgh, congrat's Madisonville and congrat's to all of the band's that were there.
