What would you think of if somebody asked you what important document was a charter of negative liberties? Would the communist manifesto come to mind, or perhaps the writings of some radical Islamic cleric?
Well to Barack Obama it is the Constitution of the United States of America. In an interview from 2001, he actually called it a charter of "negative liberties" and expressed his dissatisfaction about the fact that the Constitution expresses the limits of the power the federal government has over the individual and doesn't have a list of things the government is required to do for the individual.
The Constitution, as written by our founding fathers, was designed to keep government interference in a citizen's life to a minimum, but evidently as it is interpreted by Barack Hussein Obama, it should be expanded to give the government power over every aspect of a person's life.
Obama's view is nothing new. It has been tried time after time in many parts of the world. It goes by the names of totalitarianism and socialism.
Do you think that's too stringent an assessment? Do you think it would take a violent overthrow to accomplish socialism and totalitarianism?
Not at all, it's done in increments. A little power grab here, a little taking away an individual freedom there, freedoms that by the way are guaranteed by the constitution, as it is written and stands now.
Obama even talks about how he might to accomplish his goals in the same interview.
He actually said that one of the tragedies of the civil rights movement was the inability to bring about "redistributive change" through the courts, and that the Supreme Court "didn't break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution" and "never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth", and that the legislative branch may be the best way to bring about "redistributive change." That sounds an awful lot like someone who wants to move this country towards socialism to me.
But if Obama gets in office, I wouldn't count the judicial system out. He would appoint liberal, like-minded judges who would ram socialistic programs down the throats of unsuspecting Americans a small bite at the time until one day you wake up and can't go out the door of your house without checking with the government.
Just so we get this straight, let me define socialism, not in the terms you will find in a dictionary, but in the terms of cowboy logic.
Socialism is when the government takes the fruits of the labor of productive people and gives it to whoever they please, mostly to unproductive people who have no ambition nor any intention to do any more than they have to get by.
I'm sure if you asked Obama what the problems with this nation are, he would say that we have been uncaring toward our poor, that we need more benevolent government programs to help spread the wealth around.
Well Mr. Obama, if money alone would solve the poverty problem in this nation, it would have disappeared long ago. We've had the Great Society, The War on Poverty and decades of massive welfare programs and many of the families who collect entitlements are now approaching their third generation of depending on government.
Let's look at the real cause of poverty in America. It is not racism nor is it a lack of taxpayer money thrown at it.
Look at the rate of teenaged pregnancy among the poor, look at the drug addiction and alcoholism, look at the abysmal rate of graduation, look at the hip hop culture which disrespects authority and women. Look at the lack of personal responsibility.
Poverty in America cannot be cured from the outside, it can only be remedied from the inside out, when they stop listening to Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and their ilk who tell them that poverty is not their fault, that there's nothing they can do about it without the government's help.
Can you imagine a day when you call your doctor for an appointment and they tell you that it has to be scheduled by some bureaucrat?
Can you imagine having forty or fifty percent deducted from your paycheck before you even get it?
Can you imagine having to sit back and watch your individual rights taken away from you, not by your elected officials but by judges appointed by a ultra-liberal President and confirmed by an ultra-liberal Senate.
Can you imagine government agents coming to your door to confiscate your firearms? It already happened in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina
You think this can't happen in America? Think again.
Scary, huh?
