MTU I'm glad to hear you say that. I bought a gobblin thunder for my remington 870 supermag last week, but I haven't gotten to shoot it yet. I didn't opt for the heavyshot though. It looks bad a$$ on my gun. I'll give some comparisons on it after I shoot it Friday.

I like mine. What constriction are you shooting & what gun?
Mine is for a Mossberg 835 & is a .670. It will consistantly place 10 to 16 pellets in a 3" circle at a measured 40 yards. That is what we shoot in the NWTF Sanctioned Still-target Shoots.

Would hate to go without mine. I own 3 turkey chokes (different guns) and 6 waterfowl chokes.

I use the .665 and Winchester HV 1 3/4oz #5s. Love it. Unless things changed Kicks won't give the ok to using hevi through the Gobblin Thunder. It seems no one cares. They're shooting it anyway. I've also got good patterns with Kicks Hi-Flyer modified and #4 hevi (the original stuff I ordered from Envionmetals). This was patterned as a duck load but is so tight it should dump a turkey with no problem.

bought one for my benilla nova, shooting winchester 3 1/2, #6's, at 40yds, had to many pellet holes to count in neck/head area.
they dont recommend shooting hevi shoot thru them though. something about hevi's been harder than lead, and damaging the choke and gun. got mine at bass pro shop clearance sale $45.00.

bowhunter112 - if you bought it new and have the receipt I'll bet you can talk Kick's into swapping it out for you. Send them an e mail and ask. I did that last year when I bought a Hi=Flyer in full choke. Full was way too tight. They swapped me out for an IC. Pretty nice company to deal with.

OK I shot mine this weekend! Pattern was great with the GT choke. I compared it to the super full turkey choke that came with the gun. Pattern was 2x better with the gobbling thunder. I'll be leaving the remington choke in the safe..lol
by the way I REALLY like my new r3 recoil pad by sims... After about 15 rounds my buddy who doesn't have one quit shooting at about 5 rounds... LOL
