Gobbling up in the day

A buddy of mine and I went to scout out a new farm we leased yesterday. At 3:00 pm we heard some hens and two gobblers hammering. The hens were yelping and cutting and the gobblers were hammering back with some thunder. Didn't expect to hear anythig like that so late in the day this early.

Anyone else hearing any on up in the day?

I heard one gobble yesterday afternoon around 3:30.
Heard a couple gobble last weekend around 11 when it was thundering.

Heard 2 this afternoon hammer 5 or 6 different times, it was around 3.

We heard one yesterday afternoon around 5:00. He was with some hens also.

A bad day hunting is better than a good day at work.

I was cutting wood all day Sunday and the whole time I was there I heard one gobbling. About 5 hours worth.

I guarantee you that we would kill a bunch more birds opening on April 1 than on April 15. Probably too many. The kids should have a great weekend.
