Guys, a close friend of mine lost his 18 month old grand-daughter last night to a hard fought battle with Hurlers(MPS1) disease. She was diagnosed earlier this year and has been at Duke for the past several months. She went through chemo, blood core transfusion, trach tube and several other painful procedures. She fought this for several months before finally giving in. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you all in advance.

I could not even imagine losing one of my kids. It isnt supposed to work that way. You arent supposed to outlive your children.
My thoughts and prayers are with them.

From here to the heavens.
Seems like we've all been praying a lot for people with troubles. While you're doing that praying, it might be a good time to send up a prayer of thanks for all of the good luck we've had. Seeing someone else with troubles ought to make us appreciate what blessings we have.

How right you are. As I type this, my daughter is watching "Full House" in the Livingroom. I usually don't like that show. It's seems trivial today.Again, God Bless this man and his family.

Seeing someone else with troubles ought to make us appreciate what blessings we have.I agree 100 percent and that's why i thank God everyday for my blessings. Since May, when little Alyssa was diagnosed with this horrific disease, i have held and hugged my little guy that much closer. I had never even heard of the disease until she was diagnosed. Left untreated, she was facing a life of not much longer than 10 years old and full of adversity. Her parents opted to take a chance with the treatment, but God had different plans. Thanks so much for the prayers and make sure to hold tight to your children. Thanks again. God bless you all.
