Hey guys, I am heading to Louisville this morning and will be there for 3 days while my wife attends a seminar. Give me some info on some "toy stores" so I can "behave" myself the rest of the week.

Shame on you for leaving Trixies off the list:)!
For fishing stuff, you can go to Smyrna Bait and Tackle. You may also want to check out Hunters World on Bardstown Rd. One side is King's Archery Outfitters and the other side is Firearms Service Center.

The era of the "hometown" sporting goods store is a thing of the past. As the poster above noted. The Bass Pro Shop across the river and Dick Sporting Goods is in the same shopping center. Where they have the Wild Game Cookoff is the Firearms Service Center & Field and Stream Outfitters on Bardstown Road. Most of the other Sporting Goods stores are in the business of team uniforms, shoes, and sports equipment.
