Missed again

After lots of practice from different possitions the ultimate happened again -- 28 yards and went just under the bird -- but that's not the worst of it -- this was a flock of 2 hens with 8 or so almost grown poults -- after the miss they kinda jumped around allowing me enough time to launch another arrow which at 24 yards I think almost shot over -- I thought I nailed the second because of the feathers that blew out but they all ran off about 100 yards then flew over the trees -- I did notice on the feathers only 2 looked cut and my arrow had no blood or fatty tissue on it -- man turkey with a bow is a total jinx to me or something -- I had just practiced out to 35 yards before going and shooting tight groups but I know -- targets don't move -- wish I had it on video because I think it ducked before the arrow got to it like the one I do have on video done last year

If I had all my misses back as vital hits over that last seven years....boy I would have a lot of turkeys.

I missed more than five shots last fall alone...

Just think...we live in a state that has a viable population enough that KDFWR lets us chase them in fall and you get to hunt turkey birds with your bow from September to January....

You are getting to shoot! Keep at it....

I missed one Saturday because my first arrow hit the edge of the Double Bull Window....again....

The next arrow found a hen's vitals still trying to figure out what the "end over end" arrow was....As she died the rest of the flock moved on....I can hunt them again near that location soon.

I took a hen two Saturday's ago and she was the third bird I had shot at that day. Keep flinging those arrows and you'll connect. As stated above, turkeys are wonderful to bowhunt and I can sit in my Matrix all day waiting for them. I love this stuff!
