I use to be a big Metallica fan. Seen them 3 times But they have went to crap. It all has went to there heads. I have only heard 1 song off of the new album and it in no way reminded me of the good old days. The sold there souls on the black album and have never been worth a spit since.

I haven't heard it yet. But, it has to be better than, "St. Anger"... even my mom, who usually doesn't even comment on them said that it was pretty bad.

All went downhill after the the Black Album was released. The Unforgiven III was a huge let down.

Metallica still rocks, I can listen to any of their songs. The old stuff is the best, but are still talented. Metallica "One".

I thought Metallica retired after the Black Album. They should have been spending more time making music and less time getting hair cuts and worrying about people downloading their crap. The guys are multi, multi millionaires and you'd think you were stealing food from their starving children the way Lars cried. Left a bad taste in my mouth. If I get their new Album, I'm stealing it off the net.;)

What service do you use? I had Limewire on my old PC, but I haven't started using anything on my Mac yet.

ive been waiting to hear this for while. im a huge rick rubin fan, as well as a metallica fan. i knew this album would be great. i liked it but wasnt blown away. the unforgiven III wasnt as good as I and II but thats a pretty high bar.

The Black Album was the last CD that had even a hint of Meallica in it and it wasn't that good. Give me some And Justice For All or Master of Puppets.

I'm with Art, after Lars started crying, I pretty much lost respect for him/them. He openly admitted he had nothing better to do that sue Napster. What the hell else will he spend all that money on, herbal tea? I like a little drugs, alcohol, resentment, and violence in my music.

On a related note, I've gotten away from Metallica and listen to more Tool.

Forgot to add, new song BLOWS!!!!

Guys, most of the rich musicians, actors, sports stars etc., are crybaby liberal, self righteous whiners. Just enjoy their entertainment for what it is or you'll only be left with Toby Keith to entertain you.

I never listened to Metallica until the Black album, but it peaked my interest of the old stuff and I must say, I liked it better.
Speaking of new albums, AC/DCs "Black Ice" is hitting stores in Oct. and I think GnR(if thats what you can call them now) is suppose to come out later this year with the "Chinese Democracy"

Has anybody heard the new Def Leppard song? It blows BIG TIME. I thought it was christian rock the first time I heard it. Nothing against christian music just never expected Def Leppard to have that sound.

suprised to see so many old school Metallica boys here. I fall in that category too...

This song was ok at best. Good thing I still have their old stuff when I want some good music.

Thank god, no more Bob Rock! Rick Ruben rules!!!! This is what metal is supposed to sound like. No more annoying sounding snare drum! I just heard it for the first time this morning, and I love it.

If you'll check out the new thread on Keith, it would seem that's not the case anymore.

Maybe it was the Bob Seger cover, or the constant whining that kept em afloat. :p
