For the fast movers, anytime there is an event in Frankfort that requires a flyover, they loiter north of Frankfort. Like WKB stated, they could be participating in the events at Capitol City Airport.

Jet A runs about $5.75 a gallon, and has no bearing on automotive fuel pricing.

growing up here where I live i have seen about every type of fighter jet around. a guy who lives in Russel Ky also has a true Russian Mig that he bought, he's landed it at Huntington on several occasions but I'm not sure where he keeps it all the time.

as far as american fighter jets, i see them roar through here quite often, a couple times a week probably, used to them a couple times a day actually, i remember probably 10 years ago sitting in my stand on a cloudy day watching an all out dog fight in the sky, it was like watching top gun, they were wayyyyyyyyyy up there, could catch a glimpse of them rolling throuh the clouds from time to time, but i could hear them.. it was awesome! i guess they like to use these remote areas' for some training

kinda scary to look up and see one of those coming through the sky!

i'm not so sure he's a doctor, he might be in govt or something i don't really know.. we have a mutual friend and he says he's a realllllllly shady character when it comes to personal life...

I hunt Adams,Pike and Jackson Ohio and I see or hear them alot .Usually on Bluebird days .I was sitting in a stand last year in adams and right at daylight a squadron came from the northwest (Daytons Wright Pat Base I assume)and startled the hell out of me.These guys seem to be having a helluva good time.

They used to and still do but not as often make training runs on the power plants, bridges, major rail way and barge on/off loads, etc along the river.
I can remember as a kid on my grandmothers farm which not far off the river as the crow flies, and from the top of the hill you could see one of the power plants. They would come in over that hill right on the tree tops low and fast many times above the speed of sound the boom that went with that would would rattle windows and spook the cows along with Granny. They finally made them stop the full speed runs that low.

yeah there must not be a hard deck in some areas....... like i said there not as frequent now, but i've seen them come through here across ridge tops to what looked like 10-20 feet above them... my grandpa was on the bulldozer a while back and one came over, probably not to high above his dozer, when he heard it he jumped off the dozer and took off running, he didn't know if the dozer was blowing up or what was going on til he jumped off lol..... sometimes they even get into the valley's below the ridge tops, which is really cool to see.
