Galveston Calls For Help

I was reading a news report on Ike and they mentioned the distress calls coming out of Galveston TX. Rescue workers are waiting until the storm passes to go in.

I know it's a bad situation...but how stupid can you be. Wasn't it Galveston that had a mandatory evacuation? It isn't like Ike wasn't on the news. They should have a law that says if you are stupid enough to stay through a mandatory evacuation, and have to get rescued, then you are strong enough to rebuild your property on your own without government help.

I flipped on the TV about 4 am and a guy came staggering onto the patio where the reporter was standing. He had been one of the ones to stick it out and baled off of his roof when the eye finally reached him and the winds subsided enough. He mad a long swim in to dry land and had just been walking until he found a safe place and people.

Yeah thats kinda like those left coast wackos in California that have their houses burned down every couple of years because they are too lazy to clean all the dry brush from around their homes isnt it...! Or those California nut jobs that live on a hillside and then cant understand why their house just got knocked off into the ocean from a mud slide.......

What do you think about annexing the whole state......Maybe auction it off to Mexico...? Wait that would mean that the dems would never win an election wouldnt it.........:rolleyes:
