Anyone use this internet company's Broadband connection? Just wondering if you are satified with it. I have had nothing but trouble with it! Infact I must enter in my password each time I want to access my Outlook Express. I've talked to five I.T.'s most of them foreign, and none can figure it out??? THEN for the past two weeks I've have on average, 6 to 8 outages per day. Yesterday I couldn't use my computer at all, and this morning I can only get a few websites and Ky Hunting is one of them. This is one of the WORSE ISP's I've ever subscribed to!! How is Comcast? Is it any Better?? When I lived in Evansville, I had "Insight" and it was GREAT but it was cable and my Windstream connection is DSL. As it stands today I simply cannot recommend Windstream to anyone.
I have heard nothing but bad things about Windstream DSL around here. I have had insight cable for about 8 years and I wouldn't trade it for anything, plus the insight employees are the COOLEST!:D

I'm on windstream!! It sucks:( Mine was dropping connection constantly for like 2 months and they said their was nothing wrong. Finally i got past india and got if fixed with a new modem and new wiring on the outside of the house! They credited me for 3 months of service!!! Which i think was deserved but it took hours of calls to india to get it! On the plus side they are doing away with the indian outsourcing. But when i move here in a couple of months i'm switching to duo county as my new provider! Can't wait!!!

Thanks, Art, but unfortunately Insight Cable Services aren't available here in Northern Taylor County. :( About the only two here, for me, is Windstream and Comcast. As I've said, I've had nothing but trouble with Windstream and yesterday when I called them and "Finally" got someone they blamed it on the Storms (Ike) in the South (?) Funny thing is that I also have my phone with Windstream and it works fine. I just tried to access some of the other forums I have bookmarked but I can only access Kentucky Hunting which is good but I can't understand why I can only access it.

Glad to hear you have your problem resolved with Windstream's connection issues. I agree, I WOULD switch providers. When I called Windstream about my problem with my Outlook Express problems and issues; I talked to I.T.'s in China, Mexico, India, and who knows where else, but still have the problem with outlook. I can't even get my e-mail for two days now.

You should be able to Get on with South Central Rural Phone Company out of Glasgow. A good friend of mine works for them PM me with your location and I'll give him a call. I am limited to windstream and it sucks!!!

Not sure about the equipment as I had it installed back on July 15th of this year. The Modem Windstream provided is a Siemens brand which is made in China. Do they have another type modem, and why wasn't I given a more up-to-date one? I've had nothing but trouble with this company thus far. I can't even get my e-mail messages!!

I use windstream, but still have an alltel address. I don't have that many problems with it. there was an outage the other evening. But I experience outages at work several times a year too.

My Brother suggested I just push the reset button on The Modem Windstream provided. I did this and it seems to be working okay now.:) But must tell you I've never had this many problems with other ISP's.
I have Windstream at home. When I first set everything up the connection struggled. After further investigation I found the problem to be on my end of the box. So I wired a connection directly from the box to my computer and now couln't be happier. No filters, no dropped service, no problems. In speaking with my tech, he says that 80% of the time the problem is either bad phone lines in the house or bad modems/filters. You will know if you have a bad filter or a jack without a filter if you drop service anytime someone is on the phone or when the phone rings.

I'm at work right now and that's the only reason i can answer this. Our internet has been out since Friday Morning and nobody cares but us. Their so called "customer service" is a machine that actually hangs up on you if you wait for a human to answer. All the numbers they list in their directoryies and billing statements are to the same useless machine. At this point I'd even take a dude in India. Pay more and go cable if you can.

Still no internet and still no contact. They love their customers.............to shut up and take it! I'll bet they still want their payment just the same.

I have windstream myself and the first few months i had it i lost connection every day at certain times. Finally got the problem diagnosed to be some bad pins at the local sub station. Also the modem they gave absolutely stunk and it eventually quit working. I called a friend of mine and he got the pins fixed at the sub station and gave me a new modem and haven't had any problems since.
As with the e-mail thing I have noticed here lately that i wasn't recieving as many e-mails in outlook as before so i went in and re-entered my passwrod and and did a diagnostic on the connection to the POP3 server from windstream and everything works good now.

If you can't get windstream emails (if you have a windstream.net address) there is an additional security setting you need that was unnecessary with alltel. They suck here in Carter County but, they are mostly all we have. Some areas are worse than others. More rural= more problems. They consistently have DNS problems that they won't own up to. Cheap equipment. You name it they suck but, they are all we have. Well... except for Sudden Link cable internet that sucks too. Slow speed and some have incompatibility between the cable modems and their network adapters.
