a friend of mine has one. it shoots good. But I'm not crazy about the sights. They too are Cowboy! not much use to them. I don't know if you can mount a scope on one or not. My dad coon hunts with a pistol. A ruger Mark II .22. with the 6" barrel. They are about the same size as that rough rider and are semi-auto. he put a red dot scope on it and it drives tacs now, clover leafs at 25 yards. They are a littl pricer though. also if you want to stick with a convertible revolver Taurus and Ruger both make some realy nice ones with great adjustable rear sights. both are around the 300-350 range.

You just can't go wrong with a Ruger Single Six. Swappable cylinders (.22 lr and .22 magnum) and will undoubtedly last several generations.

I have a Ruger 22/45 semi auto that I coon hunt with, it is very accurate. i picked mine up for less that $250, but that was a year and a half ago, so they are probably higher now. My dad has a .22 revolver that I abslutely hate (can't remember what it is, though), I am not a super shot with a handgun, but this thing seems like it just throws the bullet towards the target. Now, my uncle has an awesome revolver, it is a Colt Peacemaker with a standard and a magnum cylinder, and it is an absolute tack driver! Does pretty good on coons too!:)

Agree. My dad has one of these and it is a great little gun!
