Well, I knew it was only a matter of time but it is finally hear. My son Tim is leaving for the Airport in a few hours to return to Camp LeJeune ending his pre-deployment leave.... By the end of this week he will be on his way to some pretty nasty parts of the globe that I cant really talk about. I was not sure how I would react being former military myself but it is very difficult to prepare to send a child off to war as many of you already know. Especially when you know he will be directly in the line of fire. Please keep him and all of the Marines of the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit in your thoughts and prayers as well as all men and women in uniform.
I have had many comments from a lot of you since he left for boot camp. Its hard to believe he is a Lance Corporal already and on his way to combat. Thanks again for the support.

Give that man a big hug and tell him how proud you are of him. Then tell him thank you from all of us.

Pooge, I can't imagine how you feel. I'm sure my parents felt the same way while I was in. I do know how your son feels though. My prayers go out to him and all my Sacred Band of Brothers. I thank him for what he is doing and what he stands for. God Bless.

Hey,
I wish I could tell you something that could put your mind to ease........
My son is in Iraq right now with the 25th Inf. He's in the sniper and mortar platoon. (they carry the hand fired 60's and the bolt and semi-auto long guns) They have had several killed and 12-13 or so wounded in the last several months... and yes, that is just out of his JSS (joint security station) which comprise 2-3 platoons of Americans plus the Iraqi's.
He was home on leave late last month... It liked to killed me when he went back.. ( I am a army veteran also, 8 yrs) I could see how he had changed since December. Lord, I wish it were me again, going into battle, not my son.....
I wish I could help you out sir, but I just don't have the words....

Thanks to your son. I know there are many others out there worrying for their children or loved ones so I am not alone. I hope they all make it home safely.

Born to fight, train to kill, ready to die... but never will! May he shoot straight, stay safe and come home to hunt!
