I went down the Mammoth Cave National park this weekend to go camping with my horses. I saw over 100 turkeys throughout the weekend. I saw hugh flocks all over the place. I did see one hugh tom by the campsite with a paint brush hanging.

Yeah, it seems like the state is loaded with them this year. I think the spring was good for the young ones and it should be a dandy this fall and even better next spring!

Yeah the dag on things are everywhere. I spooked about 50 this weekend when I was squirrel hunting with my dad. Sounded like a herd of wild horses in the woods. Hopefully there's more jakes than hens...more gobblers in 2010 :D

You were in the right spot to see a bunch of turks. Mammoth Cave area is always full of them. They walk right in the road like a bunch of peacocks.
Tough to see a huge tom right in front of your car like that.

My wifes sister lives up in Grayson Co. we go through the park when we go up there and always see a lot of turkey on the side of the road. I like driving through this time of year usually see a few bucks along with several does late afternoon and early in the mornings.

Even heard a few in the spring! Cant wait till sat. they are eating my corn up. and dusting right under my deer stand. Would like to kill one with a bow before thanksgiving!
